If the GC leaders finish together tommorrow and take the top 3 places then bonus seconds could decide it which could mean a tie. I assume the tie decider is the TT and hundredths .. or something else? If so does anyone know where we can see the TT results down to the hundredths?

To be fair there are a lot of climbs in País Vasco where just the length and average gradient can be misleading because of inconsistencies. This wasn't one though. And it's one that much of the péloton or at least the people in the cars would have plenty of knowledge of, since it was the same as had been used in the Klasika Primavera for years. Which, during its peak years with its strongest fields, usually ended up with a group of 20-30. In later years it got more selective, but that was thanks to the bottom falling out of Spanish cycling and some decidedly mediocre to nothingburger fields.

It’s not a double-standard. It’s the fact that I can be BOTH concerned about the riders health the same way I would about any rider who had a bad crash like that and also feel personally disappointed for what it takes away from the enjoyment of watching cycling the next many months. Because feelings don’t adhere to straight lines or exact boundaries, the two feelings get mixed together, and gives this crash greater gravitas in many people’s minds.

If that seems unfeeling or unsympathetic to consider my disappointment in the midst of the riders’ awful injuries, I’m sorry but that same day I saw many images of people with much worse injuries and personal consequences who were in war zones, traffic accidents, etc.

So we had FDJ and Caja Rural 1,2 - who would have bet on that at the beginning of this race. Chapeau to young Grégoire who, if I remember correctly, crashed out on a wet bend the other day, when his teammate was trying to lead him out.
(maybe the reason for the big crash yesterday can be gleamed from the fact today was the fastest stage of the Itzulia since 2002 and the fastest WT stage this year. Tailwind, nutrition, aeroskin, etc. yeah, I know. :))
