Reminder that Del Toro was only 3 seconds slower than Pogacar at the WC ITT last season.

Goes to show how much Pogacar was taking the absolute piss in that race.
He didn't practise his TT position and effort due to illness. In normal circunstances, he would be in front of Vine with a decent margin.

Lipowitz likes going into breaks or attack randomly at some early point. But I guess they will make him ride for Rogla and not do anything a bit more free spirited.
Potentially, but Del Toro and Ayuso doing so badly means that Lipowitz will have a bit more freedom as UAE/Lidl won't be as keen to control the race. Though you're right that it depends on internal politics

There's a difference between having a stupidly good punch for a climber and being the complete package as a GC rider that quite a few people have refused to acknowledge when it comes to Del Toro. Even taking into account the obvious underperformance, today revealed some of that disconnect.
