He looked really good in the spring, especially in LBL. He just need to improve on his explosiveness and he will be really good. I fear 64 might be a bit too light for him and that he will get sick or run out of steam before the end of week three, hopefully he proves me wrong.

Now he is 64 kg, he's got "butter" in his hips, he lost his upper chest fat (which he'd accumulated because he grew up with a dominating mother), his breathing capasity had increased 10-15%, Scarponi and Nibali couldn't drop him on Teide. Astana had an osteopath come from France to have a look at all their riders on Teide and only Fuglsang was perfect. All thanks to his new personal coach, Inge-Jarl Clausen.

Is it really so unreasonable? He wants to right his own chance and he knows that he will never be top priority ob Astana. He was 7th in 2013 and judging by his spring form, he has taken a step up this year. A top 5 in a GT might not be as far as way as you would think.

Few days ago in facebook when giving a usual update how training camp etc went well, he also said he broke the record on some climb they time there in last day and casually mentions it being 480W and a 12 minute climb.

Fuglsang is cool, I like him. He has no acceleration at all but races well and is very tough on the hardest days. His weight when in shape in earlier years has been 66kg. His trainer is a guy called Rune Larsen, afaik.
Netserk's comments about character is not really correct. I don't see how he's conceited. Some times he seems uncomfortable in interviews but then sport reporters are mostly idiots.

Good to see that Nibali's lieutenant, who looks like a likeable lad, is doing so well. Perhaps the underdog, least of the Big4, goes on to surprise everyone.

The thing he have said is that he will look other offers if he will get some good ones but he is happy to stay with Astana and have no problem riding for them in the future, right now his contract ends after this season and no new contract is signed.

Explaining extreme improvement over short time by the acquisition of this "shamanistic" coach...well, I'll give them points for creativity at least, although I'd personally rather go for something like a fake long-term disease which miraculously disappeared.
