I expect both he and Ayuso will be picking up total Dom duty from here on out unless Almeida completely folds. The GC is now the prize and those two have had their days of unfettered freedom with great results.Riding for himself
If Almeida is still in the fight after Angrilu, then any UAE rider seeking personal stage glory should be fired on the spot. Or perhaps there are more disgruntled riders at UAE than Ayuso?I expect both he and Ayuso will be picking up total Dom duty from here on out unless Almeida completely folds. If they are off the chain completely, they need to consider that, next to riding for a Kazakh run team they are riding for a situation in UAE they should not mess with. Embarrassing the sponsors would be very, very bad.
Mou has said all along these riders are signed with promises of personal glory. Maybe he’s right againIf Almeida is still in the fight after Angrilu, then any UAE rider seeking personal stage glory should be fired on the spot. Or perhaps there are more disgruntled riders at UAE than Ayuso?
Right, but Vine has his two stages, Ayuso one, so until Almeida drops out of contention the whole team must now ride for him at the expense of personal ambitions. Anything less at this point, given too Pog isn't racing, and something isn't functioning within the team.Mou has said all along these riders are signed with promises of personal glory. Maybe he’s right again
Ayuso: "it's like a dictatorship.." Spoken like a young 20-something that hasn't realized his boss, UAE is a, er...uh...semi-constitutional MONARCHY. You know; like Kings n' ***. Very definition of a dictatorship and you signed a deal to 2028 to serve them.If Almeida is still in the fight after Angrilu, then any UAE rider seeking personal stage glory should be fired on the spot. Yeah, I believe that's in the fine print of everyone's contracts. And the rider gets to define what their personal glory is.Mou has said all along these riders are signed with promises of personal glory. Maybe he’s right again
Well, I think the UAE royal house (or prince within it) simply invests to launder some cash, really. The real tyranny, if that's what it is, is doubtless conducted by the Robespierre of cycling and his Jacobin deputy.Ayuso: "it's like a dictatorship.." Doesn't take inside knowledge to say that... it's sort of the only way you stockpile young uber-talents like Del Toro, Christen, Morgado, Ayuso etc. You think that UAE pick them up at 18, after they've been winning every age group race imaginable, by telling them they're going to be a domestique?Mou has said all along these riders are signed with promises of personal glory. He is obviously doing the TT. It's been a big goal for him all season long. He's also doing the mixed relay. And he's doing the road race.Feels like he put himself on a short list of guys who could threaten to win the Worlds ITT. I guess I should look and see if he's going...
EDIT: Looks like it's not on his schedule, NM...
OK good, I read an article that said it wasn't on his schedule. Thanks. He is obviously doing the TT. It's been a big goal for him all season long. He's also doing the mixed relay. And he's doing the road race.

He is a poor descender and we don’t know his longevity over a three week GT but if he is targeting TT it means he has ticked two boxes required of grand tour riders. Would be good if he can resolve his weaknesses so we see what he can do.He is obviously doing the TT. It's been a big goal for him all season long. He's also doing the mixed relay. And he's doing the road race.
