Bad TT and with that I mean his spreading of effort. How can you lose so much time after T1 when you are fighting to win general classification. Ok he climbed faster then Vingegaard and the rest of the field but the loses before where tremendous.

Touché. He sabotages himself way too often. I firmly think he had everything to win today.Bad TT and with that I mean his spreading of effort. If he starts more faster, he will fade in the end. He knows his limitations. He can't do better than this.Touché. He sabotages himself way too often. I firmly think he had everything to win today.
I don't agree. He was sprinting in the last 300m. One thing I notice is how afraid he is in going to the red. Today was all or nothing and he didn't risk anything so he deserved to lose. He could have not won but he must pace himself better in TTs. I'm pretty sure he could have been 20 seconds faster before the climb and still climb at the same level as Jonas or even slightly better. Unfortunately we will never know. Like I said in the other day, is so annoying cheering for him.If he starts more faster, he will fade in the end. He knows his limitations. I think he already spoke about that in a interview. He said he knows his body very well, and if he starts to soon in the red line, he can pay for the effort, and struggle.I don't agree. Great race by Almeida. If we can conclude anything from this which we hardly can this early its that he has progressed more than Vingegaard which is a good sign for Almeida. Barely getting beaten by 14 sec was less than anyone expected and most importantly dropped him uphill even.Another very good race and performance from him.
He looks really strong on the climbs. Interesting to see how he does when they get longer.
No, this was not optimal. If he starts more faster, he will fade in the end. He knows his limitations. He can't do better than this.
I sometimes feel like the team has some plan to turn him into the new Maijka.
The contract will end next year. Probably he will move to another team.I don’t think so at the moment. He pretty most captain in all races outside the Tour de France this year.
But maybe Almeida soon need to start winning more. Torres and del Toro don’t look back.
Del Toro and Torres have to improve a lot first.I don’t think so at the moment. He pretty most captain in all races outside the Tour de France this year.

He has leadership in races that doesn't suit him. What does leadership in vuelta help when he's always getting ill?I don’t think so at the moment. He pretty most captain in all races outside the Tour de France this year.

Where would he want to go?The contract will end next year. Probably he will move to another team.
I think Lidl trek can be a good team for him. They have Hart or Ciccone but even with them, Almeida would be the main leader in every race.Where would he want to go?

Ayuso isn't that much better than Almeida. They just know Ayuso won't help Pog so they give him the giro. (Plus he's Matxins crush.)
Almeida has been giving wins away when he seemingly doesn't have to. Who got him to do that? Yates? Himself? I doubt it. That looked like team orders.
Maybe he's curbed his own ambitions with age but to me it just looks like the team has no idea what to do with him. They just stack it with talent and trust Pog to fix everything for them.
Yeah. I do think he'll ride the Giro next year though, but definitely shouldn't go as sole captain.Don't think Almeida can complain about anything. He can only look at himself.
First 2 years he had full leadership in the Giro. Last year he wanted to go to Tour and Liege even as helper and UAE sent him. And besides the Tour last year he been the leader or co-leader in all stage races he raced for UAE last 3-4 years.
I think UAE should be giving him less chances. Because he isn't winning anyway and give him more superdomestique jobs for Pogacar.
Oh, Pog really seems to need more help. He can't even win all GT the same season?! Poor sweet little thing.Don't think Almeida can complain about anything. He can only look at himself.

I just wonder if Broe is at the same track as you. Nothing would surprise me by now.I think Lidl trek can be a good team for him. They have Hart or Ciccone but even with them, Almeida would be the main leader in every race.
For a personal point of view i would like him to be in Visma being the superdomestique of Vingegaard, because he can sustain a high and hard pace during a lot of time.

I rather have him join Visma if superdomestique is the only thing he can be. Or even the same team as wherever Rogla will be next year to as least spice things up a bit. World domination is utterly destructive and boring.
All champs need a good team. Almeida's qualities is best as superdomestique and he is on the payroll on UAE. End of story really.
Also think he quite happy in team, as I say before UAE have gave him no reason to complain. I think he will extend as well.
He have 3 fellow portuguese friends in the team + Kevin Poulton that have worked with him since he was a kid.
