Jonas Vingegaard: Something is Rotten

Page 156 - Get up to date with the latest news, scores & standings from the Cycling News Community.
Looks like the whole team lost access to something or chose to stop using something, maybe they got told to tone it down, maybe is budget, maybe after van hojdonck they decided not to get so risky. Or maybe it's just the carbon monoxide being so vital to their performance. Who knows. But Jonas in 2022-23 looked invincible in the hot, hard mountain stages , that combloux ITT was unprecedented even in the most doped eras, and now he's riding around at lipovitz, Oscar olney level. Sep kuss, jorgensen, Benoot, van aert all got so much worse
Victor Campaneart, not previously on the team, did not seemingly get worse, instead he put Remco out the back

I do not know why people here are surprised about Vingo's performance. He has always been a slightly above average cyclist who is very disciplined and has gotten some lucky breaks in 22' and 23'. Now back to normal.
He would have won 4 Tours in a row if it wasn't for Pogacar. If that's "slightly above average" then you have impossibly high standards. Or, to put it another way, Pogacar would be going for his 5th TdF if it wasn't for Vingegaard.

Well, obviously he is well trained (with all that it entails) and he is disciplined enough to be able to be super skinny for high W/kg (not this year though). But if we are just evaluating his aptitude for road cycling I would say he is behind Tadej, Rogla, Carapaz, Bardet, Pinot to name a few.

Edit: Of course being disciplined is a big part of having high aptitude for road cycling and counting that as well he is maybe the third best in the last 3-4 years (behind Pog and Rog). My point is to say that without his high discipline he is not that much above average physiologically nor mentally (as this year proves).

Visma is so garbage I put them, Vingegaard in the bag of maybe maybe not.
UAE, UNO-x, unquestionably doing something with PEDs.
At least Vingegaard looks like a cyclist, unlike Pogacar with his ham legs.

What do you mean by his aptitude for road cycling? I mean Rogla seems to crash an insane amount. And while liked a lot of things about Pinot, I am not sure he was all that tactically astute sometimes.

I don't know about Uno-X (I'm certain there's doping there as well as on every other team at the Tour), but I sure do know about Visma. Vingegaard is obviously not clean. He's still a level above the free EPO users. According to the Lanterne Rouge watts guys he just rode the "greatest" long mountain ascent in the history of road racing.

The most doped a rider has been for a race during the season: this guy for the last 5 TdFs. Achieved nothing but some talk around his neigbourhod by his 24th birthday, to become what he did in laughably short amount of time. Infuriating that he and his lack of innate ability is just skating on by bc of Pogacar.

Didn't realise how vital that CO rebreathing was, thought it was a distraction from the real gear to be honest, but Jonas on 2 months training and a destroyed upper body was far better than the Jonas of this year. Visma just don't have that magic anymore
Only freaking Campenaerts is now a climber, but I don't even want to imagine what a monster that guy with his dorky full aero helmet would be with monoxide sniffing...

And still 4,5 minutes behind your favourite cyclist. You may want to consider the implications. Or not...

And your favorite cyclist has been winning everything for years and almost won Roubaix. It's all normal, right?
