Jonas Vingegaard: Something is Rotten

Bruyneel knew that Jumbo was targeting this day all the time, whoever gave him the info was definitely right.

So which stage did Jumbo not target? The ITT? Imagine the gaps had they actually prepped for the time trial!

In other news I don't get why GC Kuss was so mistreated today on Loze. I mean what sort of a gap back to Pog did Vinge & Jumbo want? What's the difference between 5 or 7 minutes? They drilled it like mad when Benoot slaughtered Kuss (Vinge was on the radio shouting something, i.e. which looked like "go, go, go").

I think Vinge wanted to kill two birds with one stone today, i.e. Pog... but more importantly Sepp Kuss! I'm not surprised either, i.e. if I was on whatever Jumbo is on, the only real threat... would be from a teammate.

does today put yesterday in perspective at all? Pogacar is clearly not himself. if he beat Pogacar by 25 seconds yesterday does this look anywhere near as bad? you could...argue...that the course suited the two of them better than anyone else (both great climbers and TT'ers, everyone else behind them is either only one or the other). i dunno, it doesn't feel as heavy to me as it did yesterday after what happened today.

We have been here before. None of what we are seeing is true and they confirmed it during the last two days, what everybody has probably been thinking for a while, but it has not been this ridiculous. So blatant.

Pog "bonking" all of a sudden right after his best TT-performance ever makes it way more explainable, right? Vinge is not sooo much better. Pog was just sick, as we saw. Thats why Vinge was dominant in the TT and today. Nothing to see here. Next year it is on again!

im just asking an honest question about what people think. i dont think either of them are clean. i think Pogacar is not at his normal level due to his far from perfect preparation after the wrist injury and today and probably yesterday showed that. i dont think Vingegaard would have looked so ridiculous yesterday if Pogacar was in 10/10 condition.

Well, I gave you my thoughts didnt I?

Sure, ideal prep and wrist. He is not far off though from "perfect" form. Whatever that might be.

I dont think he wins this Tour no matter what, judging by the last two days. JV had another gear that no one could beat and it was super-ridiculous!

I don’t think today change anything, because the whole picture yesterday wasn’t just Vingegaard vs Pogacar, the gap down to the rest was a very important part of the madness.

i agree, 3 minutes is a lot, but let's look at the resume of the riders behind them:
Van Aert: not a climber and also clearly not at 100% in this race
Bilbao: great climber, not a renowned TT rider
Yates brothers: likewise
Cavagna: pure TTer but a very bad climber. 3:06 seems realistic actually.
Pederson: is neither a good climber or TTer outside of really short efforts under 10k

I hate to say "weak field" but....it's a weak field. The gap to Pogacar yesterday was absurd but it makes sense after what happened today. I dunno.

I think most people are not only looking at the difference between 1 and 2, but also against the others.

How pogie moves inside that window doesn't change the relative position of either the 3rd and everyone else. Also numbers don't lie, even if we don't have accurate numbers :D. If Ving does 6.33W/kg while dialing it down... or 7W/kg+ for the last 13minutes...

The only difference would have been that Ving and Pog would have been from the same planet, instead of each their own.

i just dont understand why everyone has to respond with such condescension and vitriol whenever someone presents an alternate opinion on this forum, both in here and the road racing forum
