Jonas Vingegaard: Something is Rotten

I don't get you, why has all doubt torwards Vingegaard and the state of the peloton in general have to be based on having coping issues? Like Gall today apparently did 6,83 w/kg for 19:20. That's normal now. I mean if your take is: there nothing to see here, what exactly is the point of complaining here?
It wasn't 6.83 w/kg. Don't trust naichaca.

We know the guy is cheating because it is physically impossible to do what he has done.

Everybody else is most likely taking something, because you don’t make it to Paris without being on something. That is just the sport. It is a brutal test of endurance. It has always been and guys have always cheated.

He is the strongest, because of a lot of factors, but most importantly because he is doped beyond belief judging to by his performances. Responding super-well, which is a talent in itself. They will be the winners until someone outdo them.

Besides the 'cool' throwing the mic away. the conversation was

Dumoulin also states that the he had the same thing in the mountains, that the power meter gave seeminlgly to high values. At some point you have to wonder if there is motor doping that is being picked up by the power meter. (Or else people just pushing more power than what they expect after years and years of riding a bike is ....)

I got the impression Dumoulin was saying he had the same experience in Bergen when he won the ITT World Championships, i.e. his power meter was showing such huge values because he felt so good. Like being "in the zone".

Other than that, what's really evident here is the complete lack of emotion, joy, or any genuine thrill from the yellow jersey wearer at winning the Tour again. I mean the contrast with the tears, bro hugs & dancing at Monte Lussari when Rog won the Giro two months ago is jarring.

Maybe that's just the way Vingegaard is (& the race situation aka the victory was already settled on Tuesday) but the whole endeavor has a workmanlike corporate feel without any fun. All followers of the Tour see is a dude who has wife who is ten years older than him, a daughter &... that's it as far as his defining character traits go.

Dumo looks happier than Vinge actually. I think he loves the fact that last tuesday the team had an epic revenge for PDBF. It's personal for him, difficult past with the miner:

It's weird to me how the one guy who really should have taken this personally (Roglič) doesn't give a sh*t.

It's Jumbo who got dementia from LPDBF (in fact Zeeman said he felt so bad afterwards it was like a family member had died).

yeah sorry, i automatically translated Bergen to mountains. (berg is dutch word for mountain)

It is obviously a game to them. They get a kick out of it and are addicted to it. No way they can stop. A real life game, with high stakes. It is about outsmarting everyone else and winning. Everything is allowed, because what they are doing everyone else is also trying to do and they are just the best at it at the moment. Ruthless. Thats they were probably shocked at what happened in 2020. Their ego was severely damaged and it fueled a big retaliation. Thats why it is hard to see genuine happiness anymore from them... it is only relief.

A motor would create less strain across gauges so you would think you were on a bad day. Unless the mechanic offset the power meter by the amount the motor reduced the strain. To be invisible to the riders, it would need a two-way communication between power meter company and motor manufacturer control unit, so extremely unlikely, that's why motors are simply never found in world tour, they would be too obvious and too easily found, especially after they're crashed so regularly breaking frames and rims into multiple open sections on live tv. It would be so obvious its a motor.

I'm about 90% certain lats from doping tests.

I'm pretty sure they would be testing his blood along with everything else.
Of course they are. Which is the huge irony. He had 4 blood tests in 48 hours this week, which is supposed to make the sceptics less... well, sceptical. But it has the opposite effect. "Where there's smoke there has to be fire! See, they're onto him!"

Or even, and I don't know if they're being serious but let's say they are, "see! He has needle marks! The sign of blood doping!"

Zeeman also was in tears after Gesink finished 4th on a mountain stage behind Froome and Porte, after a long time of injuries and missed opportunities. He's just a very emotionally involved guy. Think of that what you will, but right now you're just taking each and every person on that team and slandering them.

Except for Roglic, of course. Your big hero.

Of course Roglič is the hero.

In case you missed the memo, modern pro cycling is "the hero's journey" & that hero is Rogla.

It's like Game of Thrones, i.e. Rog is Jon Snow. Pogačar is Jaime Lannister. Vingegaard is Joffrey.

Evenepoel is Ramsay Bolton.

They really don't give a f*ck anymore, do they?
They want to take all GTs this year and maybe already put Ayuso and Remco in their place ahead of next year.
Last year Vingegaard was so burned out after the tour, he barely reached a decent level to half compte in il lombardia. I'm assuming that he feels rather fresh atm to make that descission. Lets see how they are going to dominate the Vuelta then...

You have it completely wrong though.

Those tests means nothing, since no one can be caught through those tests. No known doper was ever caught in them, with the blood.

Thats why they are probably doing exactly that! One it is the most effective and two they are not getting caught. We can see from the ridiculous times/Watts and just from the overall optics. What they are saying themselves. What peope like you are saying.

They all stink and should be called out for it. Why someone on here would like to supress it is beyond me.

Well, it makes you wonder when athletes go smoothly through the testing system until they're caught in a police investigation (Operation Aderlass in Germany). It's two years now since that German doctor was sentenced to prison for having assisted in blood transfusions for athletes in different sports, including cycling. With the right guidance, athletes evaded those tests in the past - Aderlass suggests that may still be the case.

There's a big difference between continuing to race or decompressing completely and rebuilding form. Vingegaard did the latter last year.

And I think he sort of underperformed in Lombardia because he tried too hard to follow Pogacar and Mas and compeltely blew up as a result.

It's funny. You get the feeling he's human in spring and autumn. In the Tour he's 50% better. Seems like this year he had better "preparation" and is going to the Vuelta. And since he's going I believe he'll be unbeatable.

I don't know, Vinge was pretty good this spring, he won by destroying his opponents in every race he started, with the exeption of P-N against Pogi.
They clearly upgraded him for 2023, maybe now he can go on all year long, we will see.
