Teams & Riders Jonas Vingegaard thread: Love in Iberia

Loosely translated from a live interview with Vingegaard: "Watt wise the time trial was not my best performance of this tour or last year's."

Interesting, since it is primarily the time trial people are going ape *** over. But then again, it was probably mainly because Pogacar couldn't compete.

Otherwise, a very interesting interview with his former DS, Christian Andersen.
“It’s not my best performance but I was very surprised by my numbers and the power I was putting out.”

Yeah, okay.

No doubt Jonas decided to skip the post-tour parties to catch up on the forum, and is reading your post as we speak

You underestimate Jonas, once you push the watts far enough, you get to manipulate time. This means he can literally read these comments in 300 years, yet has still read them 5 minutes ago. It's just what he does. Accept it, it will be easier.

But wasn't that only on the flat section where he mentioned he did 380 watts instead of 360?

Anyway, that was one of the things he said when Emil Vinjebo asked him questions about the TT.
I don’t know if you noticed but Vinge was a beast on the whole course and had insane watts. On top of that Vinge said he held back on the flat to save himself for the final climb AND that he had the best TT of his life. If he had WVA’s helmet he would have been flying.

"frightened weasel" ?! :D That's a new one! Michel Wuyts speaks -

"He could have shown himself to be an even greater champion," says the Belgian analyst to HLN, referencing the stage 20 finale as the root of his frustrations. "I was left hungry when Vingegaard refused to take over from Pogacar. It was a bit drizzly. Vingegaard acted as a frightened weasel."

Michel Wuyts knows how to get attention, he should consider going into politics :D

Wuyts was once a well-respected commentator, but he's gone absolutely nuts. To be fair, he's not the only one, over there in Belgium. Can't wait to see their beloved pair Roglic-Vingegaard take on Evenepoel. It will be like the forces of hell uniting against the Chosen One.
Sadly Van Aert won't be a domestique for Roglic and Vingegaard. That would be the cherry on top of the cake.
