I really think he will travel back to Denmark. Considering the circumstances.

Thanks!
I thought this forum only have me and two or three more danish users, as a fans of Vingegaard! And most of all in heads of his fans. As a big Skeletor supporter, I can't deny it!
His lung is no longer collapsed or he wouldn't have had any surgery. Breathing, heart , and control bleeding; then fix a bone. The problem is that Vingegaard, with a collapsed lung, will not be allowed to fly the next days. Surgery can shorten this.
Or he has to return to Denmark by car after leaving the hospital.
We'll still see him sooner than expected in his bike turbo trainer at home. His lung is no longer collapsed or he wouldn't have had any surgery. Breathing, heart , and control bleeding; then fix a bone.
I believe he will be there.
If he's able he should ride as much of it that will help his form. JV needs all of the help they can get.I believe he will be there.
The news today about his update gave me some good hope that he will be in the Tour, and even if he enters in the Tour at 90/95% of his best shape like in the Vuelta 2023, i still "like" the chances of him winning the race, because he can improve day by day and being in peak shape by the third week.If he's able he should ride as much of it that will help his form. Let's not forget the Tour 2024 is "backloaded" in the last 9 days.
Another rider out of the Giro that could "challenge" Pogacar (at least, put him out of zone 2). Can't even know who would win the Giro if Pogacar crashed out.In other news today Visma announced Kelderman is out of the Giro because he hasn't recovered from his collarbone fracture in Paris-Nice.
So I wouldn't hold anyone to any timetable, or assume a best case scenario for Vingegaard's TdF defense prospects. I think it's wait & see. Just like for Evenepoel & even Rog (based on the fact he hurt his knee).

If Vingegaard misses Dauphiné, he will be out for the Tour.
I guess Remco and Roglic will be fine for the Tour. Roglic will probably race Liege very soon.In other news today Visma announced Kelderman is out of the Giro because he hasn't recovered from his collarbone fracture in Paris-Nice.

Jonas can do as you did, attack in the third week. How do you know that?
Not ideal prep for Remco though.I guess Remco and Roglic will be fine for the Tour. Roglic will probably race Liege very soon.
I don't think Remco will be out a lot of time like Kelderman. Kelderman already broke 4 times the collarbone, that's why probably he is taking a lot of time to recover. Not ideal prep for Remco though.
It's the million dollar question for this forum...How do you know that?
Merckx wouldnt complain about that. Shouldnt be a problem, right? Not ideal prep for Remco though.

But his team has announced Vingegaard will participate at the Tour ONLY at 100 %. So, start at 98 % and "grow" or become stronger during the Tour (as Van Aert did a few years ago after surgery for appendicitis, winning 3 stages the last 10 days) will not happen. Not necessarily. I'll repeat what I already said in another thread. Top guys don't need prep races that much to be in a very high form. If Dauphine collides with high-quality pre-Tour training (that can compensate for the preparation shortcomings) they will surely choose the latter.
