I think Lund is a bit mad at him for not doing anything with the national team.

Not like Denmark is short on riders who have been much better fits for the World/European Championships in recent years.
When Vingegaard expressed his interest in riding the Olympics, Lund - or maybe it was Bennekou - truthfully pointed out that the route doesn't really fit him that well, and there were only four spots available.

He tends to become worse after TdF anyways, and with his difficult prep for this year‘s TdF, he even more has difficulties to maintain his shape, I‘d think.
Now he rides Lombardia or finishes his season. Probably the first. I think he still has passion to race in 2024.

Nobody expected he‘d crash so heavily in Itzulia, and when I read pneumothorax I expected a massively worse outcome. Second at Tour and win in Pologne are great and show what fighter he is.

A more cynical person than I might get the thought that DCU are more thinking about their sponsorships value if they can replace Asgren or Bjerg on the poster with Jonas. Or that their sponsors are constantly asking "why no Jonas?"

My thoughts on him attending the WC kind of come back to the backlash he seemingly has had from the danish federation earlier this year. He claims he wants to be more involved and this would be an ok year for him to have a go. Next year would be better but doubt he is willing to travel for the WC.
yeah This year is decent enough for him, depending on the childbirth timing. He isn't missing out on the biggest results of his career. He throws a bone to the national team, media and fans.

I had to mute the coverage of the Vuelta - putting sound on one of the other races - when they started boiling soup and that case again during the stage coverage.
After they'd already discussed it during the pre-stage studio.

It's not like today's stage gives them a lot of other topics to discuss.

Vingegaard would stand no chance on this route anyways. No problem at all
true, even in his best years he would need to be highly motivated and really build a significant part of his season around that peak to have a decent shot at it.

Then again, it's hilly enough that Vingegaard would be an asset to any NT.

But yeah, after the Tour he has looked like getting race ready post crash really took a toll on him, so it's not a problem

Apparently, he has expressed a wish to do the Giro next year. No decision taken.

If it happens the Giro organizers will be happy but it will completely kill the race suspence, the way Teddy's participation did. Unless...both of them decide for the double!

I knew it! I really have a strange feeling about Vingegaard doing Giro-Tour next year. After seeing Pogacar be so good in the Tour, I know Vingegaard can win the Giro with one leg and be ready to challenge Pogacar in the Tour.

I don't know to be honest, Jonas having such freedom? IMHO for Visma is now all about the Tour and Jonas being their only option. So i will be surprised if he ends up doing a Giro. We'll see.
