Vingegaard will have a great TT, he’s been TTing very well this year. The issue is the mountains and he showed again he’s having issues matching Pogacar’s acceleration.
Given how brutal Pog's attacks have been recently, I was actually quite impressed by Vinge. The distance to the others was enormous on such a short climb.

It's not the first time that Vingo shows how good he is even on short (but steep) climbs. He could do really well in Liege and maybe even in Fleche Walonne methinks.
Wouldn't that be something? It'll be a crime if Vingegaard doesn't do the Ardennes classics next year.
The world needs Vingegaard on Mur the Huy and LBL ! :D

Regarding today's stage: what a performance from Vingegaard! Loved seeing him claw back Pogacar on that crazy steep short climb.

I just hope he can keep doing this for the rest of the Tour and we get a proper duel right up until the end.

Very good Jonas but I'm afraid this is a San Luca scenario. At least the Tour is not over! Go Jonas!

A small but important detail. He was behind MVP when pogacar attacked. He had to close a gap because when Pogacar attacked, MVP was getting dropped.
Some saw a weakness in Vinge, I didn't. This actually gave me a small hope he can put up a good fight this year. Pog is still the favorite of course, Vinge must first prove he can be competitve in the high mountains before we can say for sure he can challenge Pog. But the signs so far are at least good. :)

Chapeau - good strong performance and nice sprint. Impossible to judge how closely matched he will be in the mountains as the stages are not comparable and he followed on St Luca but very strong to follow Pog nonetheless and bodes well.

Has a good chance to take yellow tomorrow. Will be interesting to see the time gaps relative to the Dauphine TT

What did he say after the finish?
Did he have a slight mechanical or he cracked a little bit and managed to come back?

Almeida will be a nuisance for Vinge and Visma.

He is strong as hell and can set up Pog for an attack even if Visma doms manages to drop Yates, Sivakov, Wellens and Narvaez.
I think Almeida being there is ok for Vingegaard, his tempo is sustained and strong but not as punchy as if the Wellens/Narvaez combo are still there, plus he won't give 100% as he needs to save energy for the podium.

I make Jonas to be the favourite to be in yellow after tomorrow
If Pog doesn't improve from Dauphine, he should be the favourite. He is 50s ahead of Remco and in Dauphine tt he lost 20s over 17k, half the distance from tomorrow.

Seems like Vinge's shape has improved since Dauphine. And this year he has been really strong on the flats in the two tt's he has done.

I think he will do a great tt tomorrow. If he gets in yellow it should boost his and Visma's confidance. But I don't count out Pog tomorrow, positive he will ride better than in Dauphine, question is how much better.

Vingegaard:
“I felt really strong today. I'm very happy to have stayed with him on the climb. We’re pleased with how things are going," reflected the Team Visma | Lease a Bike leader in post-stage comments collected by Feltet.dk. "I think I put out one of the best one-minute power efforts of my career, so I’m really happy with how I rode. It just shows once again that I’ve become more explosive.”
Still though, beating his long-time rival Pogacar on these types of finish is a challenge for Vingegaard. “Tadej is riding incredibly well," admits the Dane honestly. "He looked really strong and he deserved the stage win today."

Well, shape must be really good then.

Vingegaard plays down expectations before tomorrow’s TT.

“It’s obviously not the most favourable time trial for me. I think it suits Remco better — and maybe also Pogacar," previews the Dane in conclusion. "But of course, I’ll give it everything I’ve got. I’ve done some good time trials this year, so I’m hopeful I can put in another strong performance tomorrow.”

When he rides like today I'm always surprised he never goes for 1-day racing properly again
I think the timing of the Ardennes is a bigger problem than the parcours. It's right when he's coming down from his spring races, and then it takes him a while to build up again.

Yeah but he has won them already, wouldn’t it be more fun to go for a diverse palmares instead of another Catalunya
