It looks good for GC for Jonas now, but it‘s not over yet. Don‘t forget the meaning of „Rabofail“. It is one of the laws, the basics of pro cycling: „a Rabobank rider can not be in Yellow in Paris.“… :)

I hope Jonas now beats this curse. He deserves it.

I hope he won‘t crash, get sick or whatever…

These gaps are huge. I just looked at the last 10 years and, if you go by gaps in the top 10 this was too, top performance by Vingegaard. If, for example, Vingegaard crashed out today, Pogacar would be 5 minutes ahead of second and 8 ahead of third, which would be a dominant victory. But Vingegaard is 3 minutes ahead of Pogacar. Wow. I admit, he massively outperformed by expectations.

I don't think the field from 3rd and below is particularly good.

I‘m a big fan of Roglic, of Jumbo, of Vingegaard.

My big wish: if Vingegaard should win this TdF, please (please, please!) invite Michael Rasmussen to the celebrations to Paris on Sunday evening!

Michael, the Dane of Team Rabobank, actually won the TdF 2007. Now, 15 years later, it would be Vingegaard, the Dane of Jumbo. What a story. Rasmussen and Vingegaard are two of the best climbers in the history of the Tour de France.

Please, don't compare any rider with the Chicken.

There can be only two chickens… Same height, weight, tan, nationality and climbing legs!… :);)

EDIT: Rasmussen = Vingegaard, Menchov = Roglic…

This race is actually a bit reminiscent of the 2007 edition, at least regarding the best 2. Contador was attacking Rasmussen in the Pyrenees but couldn't gain anything and at the end Rasmussen struct the last blow on Aubisque. The next day he was out of the Tour...Let's see if Vinge follows the footsteps of his legendary compatriot.

I was just trying to remember what went down exactly that year. What happened on Stage 8 for Rasmussen to gain 3:31 on Contador? If not for that day, he would have been way behind before he got pulled with another ITT to go.

He seems understand that not every rider needs to be a skeloton. Back during the 2020 Tour he went on about how Mads P. and Valgren were "fat"...
Mads P the world champion? Needs to lose weight?

Problem is nowadays riders are so unhealthy with the weight obsession. No bone density, weak immune systems, possible hormonal issues. And it started with Rasmussen (I think?) the whole weight thing.
