that's just his climbing style, he's all over the bike cranking on the pedals as hard as he can. Absolutely nothing like Contador's smooth and fluid climbing but somehow it works for him.

Yup, the likes of Fernando Escartín, Juan Mauricio Soler, Paco Mancebo and even Chris Froome are examples of riders from recent history who had ungainly, seemingly inelegant styles of climbing, but who were great climbers. When he gets out of the saddle we can add Cadel Evans to that list.

Do we think Sky will persuade JTL to wear glasses?

Currently it makes him very easy to pick out which is great when spectating - but is there a marginal gain in not letting your oponent see the whites of your eyes and if you are going to crack.

Of course, he will never crack, so why wear glasses ;)

(I see they think he needs to lose weight, where from one wonders? there is a not a lot of him)

tommy v is as tommy v does - small ring? pah!! c'est pour les filles jeunes etc

...and Voeckler appears to be the only one in his big chainring. I remember at some point near the end of the race he seemed to be cranking an enormous gear in comparison to everyone else. I wonder why he chose to ride in such a huge gear?

Maybe his Campagnolo EPS "chose" for him. :)

LOL!
He didn't appear to be struggling with it at all though. Maybe he was trying to intimidate his opponents with his display of strength. Or maybe he thought it was Festivus season (sorry for the Seinfield reference).:D

Well, thats his racing brain being taken out and replaced with power meter readings.

Good luck to the lad, I do enjoy watching him attack, will be interesting to watch him step up.
X2. We need excitement from England and sky now has a sure thing with Locke who can make us forget flavorless cycling style. As far as winning grand tours, I sure hope he will win at least one more than he already have
