Correct, they are down, could be a traffic overload (or a DOS attack!) as their server (208.43.46.172 apparently) is responding to pings . I did scrape a copy for my archives, not sure if it's ok to share it or where to put it though, will wait for guidance from a MOD.

Does anyone know how many riders from Lances TDF teams are stil riding in the Protour level? how many, ( or few) have there reputation in tact?
Certainly ( to a paranoid sociapath) it might make sence that the sooner those that know the truth are away from the sport the better.
From that position besmurching there reputation any way possible begins to make sence.

Well, there's that elephant over there in the corner, aka George (Jawge) Hincapie....

Call me paranoid - but it seems that nyvelocity is down.

Anyone scrape or take a copy of the full transcript?

EDIT: looking at the error message - they are probably just getting hammered by the volume of traffic

I had the same experience, I would assume it to be traffic related--I'd be surprised if they're set up for massive spikes.

I have the transcript posted to the cloud. I do it now as a matter of course when articles like this come out. They're too often taken down, changed, etc.

wow....I'm exhausted. This was a surprise for me this morning, have spent a LOT of time reading this and posts...an Excellent article...amazing.
I have always believed Floyd, but this is some very important background on who he really is, and some detail on many previously vague stories.
Well done PK. And thanks RR for the initial post!

USP/Disco TDF guys still active with a reputation?

Hincapie?? And he only has his reputation intact because people think he's a nice guy.

CVV - ditto

They are the only ones I can think of with a rep still intact.

Hindsight is 20/20 but I can't say I'm surprised, based on all the signs out there, there was no way he was telling the truth in 2006 and there was no way he was lying in 2010. What's fascinating is the story behind it. Still I'm surprised Kimmage didn't ask him what he thought would have happened to him at USPS if he hadn't "offered" to be on the program.

@red_flanders - I need to start doing that, what cloud service do you use?

I do exactly the same thing, first thing i did before i even read the article was make a pdf of it. Same as I do with any interesting videos. Things have a habit of dissapearing.

i am referring to his positive for his TdF win. he claims the results were bogus and he didn't take what he tested positive for, so was wondering did uniballer make it happen.

Great piece of journalism from Kimmage and I appreciate Landis as well for delving deeply into this stuff via his own personal demons...sounds to me like the fellow is doing his best to come to terms with himself and what he has done, and what others are doing...heavy stuff and real...I have realized for quite awhile how corrupt, not only with doping, but payoffs via money and favors cycling is, but this article really added some needed fine nuance...I hope and look forward to Kimmage to putting out the definitive BIG BOOK on all of this stuff and finally putting the stake into the vampire our sport has become...great stuff and important...

Holy smokes! That took up my whole morning. Unbelievable read. Quite the work for Paul Kimmage. The one thing that I wished Paul had gone into just a bit more were the specifics about the night before Morzine. Did Floyd do anything "special" to rev up for his epic ride besides his "normal" routine?

Amazing interview though. How can his detractors not realize the implications of all this? A truly moving read. I'll have to go through it a few more times for sure.

really wonder whether the original positives for Tyler, Floyd, Heras, Contador and all the other ex USPS/Disco riders were ALL busted because thats what Lance wanted. Fall guys, be disloyal to Lance you're career is over.....
I have always wondered exactly that. Especially with this quote:

"I race to win, LA races to prevent others from winning."

Everyone that has won the TdF since Lance has fallen in one way of another (Pereiro was insignificant in the scheme of things). Sastre openly called out Armstrong for his belittling remarks, and now he's not even invited to the Tour. Connections? Why not? I'm far past the point of caring if I sound like a tin-hatter. The depth and breadth of corruption is mind numbing.

One question that didn't get asked is whether Landis feels what would have happened had he not offered Bruyneel to do whatever it took to be on the TDF team. He does say later in the interview that some stuff worked better on him, like HGH vs Testosterone and that the boos is not 40%. Does he feel he wouldn't have made it on the USPS TDF team?
My assumption is that whether or not Floyd had the ability to keep up with team, by riding clean, was probably inconsequential. They probably had a mandate of sorts. You ride the Tour, we store your blood. Period.

Just my interpretation.

I really want to go for a ride right now...

I will say this. Today, the most powerful man in cycling is Paul Kimmage. When he speaks, people listen. Intently. They trust what he says, and they know that what he says will be important.

Contrast this with Pat McQuaid. No one believes a word the man says.

Lets keep the debate about cyclingnews and their type of journalism out of this thread, seeing that there are far more pressing matters in this article for this subsection.
Its probably better to write such commentary in the about the website subsection seeing as it is more of interest there and it is more likely that people who can really do something about it read it there, as opposed to here

In other words, let's tip toe through this thing for fear of rocking the boat? Interesting take ...

And I think, largely thanks to Kimmage, that this control is slipping away. McQuaid got away with it so long because he did not have a lot of public exposure to his corruption. Kimmage is changing that, and there is NOTHING Pat can do to stop it.

Geek Notes:

My guess is it's traffic related. Wordpress (WP) is okay at high volume, but it needs to be configured for it. A plain vanilla install will crash when really busy. Keep in mind that the word 'busy' applies to maybe 5% of all WP sites. The other 95% (NYCvelocity included) would never need to think about the config. I'm assuming it's a standalone Wordpress installation with infinite bandwidth.

If it's a shared setup, the interest that article would generate would cripple the average multi-hosted WP server and the database back end would be brought down in a hurry. On top of that, the site would probably be flagged by the even a charitable host as exceeding bandwidth.

Someone should contact the admin about posting a cache of the page somewhere and just redirect to it until things die down.

Time will tell. but who is going to depose McQuaid and surely the next uci president will be a puppet for the puppet master, Verbruggen, who i believe still runs the sport through McQuaid, albeit extremely corruptly and badly.

FIFA gets away with is huge corruption, IOC too. UCi aint gonna change.
