Austrian Bernhard Kohl
Austrian report reveals details of centrifuge and rental apartment

A report from the Austrian blood-doping investigation revealed more names and details, according to newspapers Oberösterreichische Nachrichten and Het Telegraaf. Investigators received help from Bernhard Kohl, who tested positive for drugs after the 2008 Tour de France.

posthuma, weening and menchov have been to austria to testify.
according to this that only means kohl didn't name them. someone else might have.

according to a dutch newspaper a witness claimed to have seen expensive cars with dutch license plates stopping at the appartement several times. that can't be dekker or boogerd because they don't have dutch license plates.

since simon vroemen was also a part of it, we know it's not only cyclists from holland. maybe speed skaters?

I love Bernhard Kohl.

What is happening points to something else here, that being that doping appears to be done in the form of "cells." They appear to be grouped in smaller numbers, and my guess is that they are kept completely unaware of who else is working with a specific doctor or clinic for their protection and the protection of others. It is LITERALLY organized crime.

Hey folks, don't quote the whole story, no matter what the source is. Put in the link and a few sentences.

Thanks.

Susan
you gotta be more careful recycling leads yourself too. Know there is a poster from DP and Podium Cafe, that put up atleast two stories I know of, that you ripped off for CN news. Counting the ones I do not know of, must be more than that. Should not be so precious.

Actually, this is better for CN. Starting a thread, they will get more hits, and people will come back, two, three, four times to the one thread. They only read your piece once on the main site.

A few questions, since I haven't really followed this story closely enough and this article was a bit confusing:

The CN article states that Kohl, Rasmussen and the cross-country skiier bought a centrifuge and rented an apartment in mid-late 2008. Why would Rasmussen be doping when he was suspended and not racing? Or was the date just incorrect?

Why would Boogerd be implicated if he retired before 2008? Is this just fallout from Kohl's statements about doping in his Rabo days?

Sorry, the article doesn't make it very clear. Were there other doping instances that this article doesn't refer to?

Thanks for the link, as Susan appears to have broken the other one!

Cells? Certainly seems that way, given how the info makes it to the public eye.

However, we are given a batch of riders already "tainted" and a retired rider.
That, I find odd, given the other names linked to Austria.

We may not only have cells, but a protection racket, too.
On that subject, Kloden still seems to be "untouchable"?

Kohl says both him and Rasmussen donated blood for storage last September. It seems likely that riding and doping go together for the Chicken. Just getting ready for his comeback.

Well Menchov lives in Spain, so that rules him out. Not sure about where Posthuma resides.

And BTW Zberg announced his retirement due to a nasty crash that he had.

Update on the humanplasma case: Austrian newspaper Kurier quotes an "anonymous insider" who says the doping clinic had 184 athletes as clients between 2002 and 2006

It should be noted that Kurier were the first to report on the doping clinic about 3 years ago and later the first to name names.

In both occasions no one believed them. And in both cases they turned out to be dead right.
So by now we should give them a lot of credibility.

They also say that these 184 different athletes are between 2002 and 2006, so the full number is likely to be higher.
