I've heard this a million times...don't people get it?...the gay person and a group of people (church) comparison doesn't add up. It would be more like a heterosexual couple getting tax benefits and a gay couple not. A group of gay people could start a church and still have tax benefits.

Fair enough, but I personally think that churches should pay tax, but maybe slightly lower than a corporation.

1) It's a joke, made by a comedian
2) It does add op somehow, depends on how you read it. He does not compare gay people with religions, but gay vs straight with religious organisations vs non-religious organisations. And remarks that in both cases the one has other rights/obligations than the other.

Some groups are just not religious, it's not their fault, they are born that way. You should't force them to become churches just in order to avoid taxes!
