It's the kind of high school where a pass has a very different meaning.

Because at Pili - in China's rugged northern Xinjiang Uygur region - the pass is 1,500ft above a sheer drop down a precipice which 42 pupils have to pick their way across on their way to and from school.

Guided by parents and staff, the youngsters scramble over the sloping rock face finding foot and handholds that would make even a goat think twice.

"It's very steep but we're mountain people here and used to walking like this. We haven't lost one yet - there are severe penalties for truancy,"

Imagine the equations required to plot a graph like that. Scientists- what are the equations to get iterations to produce such a graph? I know it's a fractal but it has to have an equation to justify such a pattern.

A contest consists of 11 rounds, 6 rounds of chess, 5 rounds of boxing. A round of chess takes 4 minutes. Each competitor has 12 minutes on the chess timer.

A round of boxing takes 3 minutes. Between the rounds there is a 1 minute pause, during which competitors change their gear. The contest is decided by: checkmate (chess round), exceeding the time limit (chess round), retirement of an opponent (chess or boxing round), KO (boxing round), or referee decision (boxing round). If the chess game ends in a stalement, the opponent with the higher score in boxing wins. If there is an equal score, the opponent with the black pieces wins.

Man proposes with murder victim's ring

FIVE days after brutally beating an elderly Chicago woman, her alleged killer reportedly used the rings he pulled off her dying fingers to propose to his girlfriend

Raymond Harris, 36, allegedly showed up at a party that night, showed the stolen rings to a friend and asked which ones he should use to propose.

Harris had been released from prison in May after serving 13 years of a 30-year sentence for breaking into a woman's home, beating and raping her for several hours and setting fire to the house in 1997.

Just three weeks before that attack, Harris had been released from prison for robbing a woman at gunpoint as she parked her car outside her home.

A glass path was built on the side of a cliff on Tianmen Mountain in Zhangjiajie, China. The ‘Skywalk’ is about 4700 feet (1,430m) above sea level and 200 feet (60 metres) long.
The 3ft-wide, 2.5in thick glass walkway is so breathtakingly scary, the company that built it has been unable to find anyone to keep the sidewalk clean. Until they do, daredevils are asked to wear cloth slip-ons over their shoes.
