JTL wishes he had a rich daddy and a sympathetic national doping agency

But the evidence says Kreuziger is clean, so that must mean he is clean. He doesn't need any rich daddys.

JTL on the other hand was a cheater and a doper. Nothing you can do about those people.

Yeah it is always nice when your national doping agency supports a clean athlete against the evil WADA

what? you think Kreuziger is a doper or not?

what our fellow member thinks is irrelevant despite your continued trolling..............how many in the world

whom follow cycling would vouch for roman being clean............. tinkoff only crys 'clean' 'cos he knows

he can get away with it

People who follow sport but dont follow cycling think all cyclists dope. Cycling fans think their heroes don't dope. UCI are only fooling a tiny minority and that is why the sport will never grow.

The weird thing is that quite a few of the riders being suspended do seem to be putting in some questionable performances but the UCI seems to be having a lot of trouble convincing the legal system. But then again there are many instances of questionable performances where riders are not being banned. Some system they have. It's beyond a joke. No wonder many fans just watch the races and just accept the results as is.

Question is: should it grow?

It should evolve naturally as people become interested in it. They should evolve the sport by figuring out what is good for those involved, say like, independent hugely funded anti doping..........

Making sure all those that have a doping past are not allowed to have anything to do with the sport.

That would make Bassons president of UCI with a handful of members and all the riders would be under 12s.........you know what? i would do it like that.

The only way to make the sport grow is to make it become more like other major sports, meaning no more positive tests. Cookson has learned the lesson from the McQuaid era that doping is always going to be bad for buisness. So what choice does he have? Cleaning up the sport is obviously impossible, and no rider, team owner, sponsor or anyone else would want this anyway.

Thus, Cookson is going the propaganda way with all the nonsense about independence and new generations, while trying to sweep all doping under the carpet.

Bigger? It appears teams are struggling to find sponsorships, how many teams in recent years had to merge? Hardly a tsunami of people or companies lining up to sponsor pro cycling. Mostly bike related sponsorships, Cannondale, Trek, Giant, Merida........

Riding a bike is popular, but that has little to do with pro cycling.....

For sure no one in the sport is interested in ridding it of its culture to dope. Cookson is not the man to even attempt to clean the sport up. Just replicate other sports in better sweeping stuff under carpets, but that failed so many times due to various state authorities and will happen again no doubt.

Yes it seems the sponsors are harder to come by as are contracts for aging riders unless they're getting good results. The best riders are probably making better money than ever except for someone like Armstrong who had a global profile and had a global downfall. There will probably never be another Armstrong. We can only hope.

Kreuziger's blood values showed the hallmarks of EPO use but he didn't test positive for EPO or anything similar so that raised the question as to how his Reticulocyte count went up if, as he says, it wasn't externally manipulated during a period of heavy racing...
So an undetectable form of EPO or a masking product may be found at a later date during a retrospective test...case still open in my opinion!

where are the anti hypocrisy people, while Kreuziger beats a Novo Nordisk rider (whose voctory would have been huge for the team) in Colorado?

not a tweet? not a whisper? nothing?

too busy talking about the Vuelta where a bunch of kreuzigers are racing against each other?

From what I can see here, the most vehement people don't want to waste any of their bile on anything other than Team Sky.

Good for them, I say, whilst acknowledging that they are missing the point quite spectacularly.

the silence you can hear on the webz. a guy who doped has beaten a guy on a clean small pro conti team, and I don´t hear anyone complaining.
I hope people understand how much a stage win would mean for Novo Nordisk.

that's marginal hypocricy at best and as thesceptic says what do we know about novo nordisk?
And is anybody at all claiming Kreuziger to be clean? don't think so.

I've heard people claim the giro 2012 was won by a clean team.
Same people are now hanging Kreuziger as a doper.
imo that's hypocricy.
