Pipo and Gilbert are different spec riders. But when you have 6 guys that mightly every year in top 10 of cobblestones you can count on wins.

Tyler Farrar was unlucky. Not only did he suffer a puncture, in the finale he chose the wrong line and ended up in 4th place. He was, however, not the only one. Greipel also couldn't find the right wheel and only made it to 3rd place.

Amazing.

Imagine that both men hadn't made their respective ever so small errors in judgement and were slightly more lucky - just imagine what would have happened.

We would have seen two top sprinters on 1st place!

Sadly, because of the bad luck of Farrar and Greipel, we've all been cheated out of a legendary edition of Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne.

No, I was (and still am) amazed how badly my post was read. I cannot for the love of God understand how in a brain the words 'we have been cheated out of a legendary edition' be transformed into 'it was a legendary edition', aside from completely missing the obvious irony.

Actually this year was legendary... or at least historic.

First time an Australian ever won the race. German and US riders have won it before (three German wins and 1 US win).

I find it odd that in KBK only three nationalities have more then one race victory in the race.

Nothing on here is often obvious irony, there are people who truly hold some strange beliefs on here, some even think the ToC is very important on a global scale

I just stated that even if Farrar or Greipel had won it would not have been a legendary edition.

also greg van avermaet blamed everyone but himself or else he would've won too. 3 guys who would've won if they didn't had bad luck!! has that ever happened in a race yet?? would indeed be legendary to have 3 winners.

Especially considering that the UCI already have good rules for how to deal with riders being stopped by trains.

As a relative newcomer to following races outside the TdF in detail, rather than merely results, I wasn't aware that so many of the big races involve level crossings. But what are these "good rules" Would the prior work of the breakaway have been somehow protected if they had sat for a few minutes waiting for the gates?
