Well actually it was only 5 last year, but does Visma like this? Van Aert won't win this.

Kuurne isn't the Ronde and the race hasn't been hard enough. Just like yesterday WVA is doing the majority of the work. He isn't in a group with Pogi and MVP that can put a minute into the chasing group at any given climb. Has to do it by himself against a big chasing group.
Weird tactics from Visma unless they think that WVA isn't their strongest option today. Would have expected to see someone like Tratnik or Van Baarle in the early move.

There will probably form a peloton behind after the hill but they'll be 1'30 behind by then and it's a tailwind towards Kuurne. It's basically the same scenario as last year but not 2 Visma's.

Yesterday this would be a great situation for them, that 50k of flat will kill them though, likely that G2 and G3/4 come back together and they gradually eat into the minute advantage.

It obviously isn't a bad situation, but if you have 4 guys in a 12 man group or something and then let e group ride away with only 1 of you I don't think you did a good job.
