I think there's a slight chance that Pogacar will have a slight off day because the real goal is Liege. But then he also seemed very disapointed last year when he couldn't ride.

Yeah, similar to how he rode the warm-up races before Lombardia last year.
He is coming into these races in better form now though. He had to ride himself into form back then. Here he might want to go for the win in both races. Ronde ended in disappointment for him, after he had ridden such a great race up until the finish, so Im sure he is motivated now to make these races very hard.
He will try and go for the double here in the Ardennes.

Surely with Ineos winning all the classics, it's Pidcock who will win this.
I’m sure he’ll be attacking every couple km for the entire second half of the race if the last few races I’ve seen him do are any indication.

I believe that year had had a bunch of hard weather, Rodriguez won by a huge margin yet his time was very slow. By far the slowest Mur de Huy finish since 2009.
Thanks for that. Shame we won’t see the Roglstomp. Looking at that he seemed to have it wrapped up for all money.
I don’t think Ala is on top form and that he won’t be able to drag it back if Pogacar does a 400 metre all out effort.

So this race was never decided in a puncheur sprint before 2004, after which it was never decided by a breakaway?
That seems bizarre but makes sense given the names of the winners.

Yeah, Pog was very disappointed with false positive COVID test last year. He wants to hammer the Mur for sure. As for his form it could be declining actually (to have time to build the monstrous July peak) so he can be stronger here than in Liege. BTW he's been pretty silent in recent weeks, nothing new on Strava as well. Why isn't he posting record-breaking Mur recon to make Ala&Bala withdraw?
