The problem last year was that no one expected it and riders didn't have their rain jackets. Also temperatures dropped from like 13 degrees to 0 in a few minutes time.

So no, not comparable to this year at all. Riders are better prepared and most of the rain is falling in the west en center of the country. According to radar it's gonna keep raining from now on tho.

Seems surprising. Not a comment against Remco but I don’t think a race favourite should be part of the decision in any case. This would be across the board so no top sprinter for a flat stage, no MVDP/Mads P etc in the classics and no Jonas/Primoz/Tadej/Remco in stage races.

Too much conflict of interest potential.
Do you know how this is decided? I have no clue.

I agree that it's a conflict of interest.

cote de l'erREV he will launch?
Maybe 2nd time Mur de Huy? Although it's still quite far from there. But if you go hard with your team on the Mur, there are only a few riders that aren't completely dead on top. That's the perfect time to attack for Evenepoel.

Happy to see Remco riding at the front of the peloton. Looks like he learned from his bad positioning on AGR and/or has regained confidence in the pack after his long break?

Yeah it's not a 40 finishers type of race but it's definitely grim enough that it'll have an impact on the result.

It’s gonna be a really hard day with this rain.

Last time I did the Mur, it was pouring down hard a couple minutes before I entered. In shorts and shirt because it was a good day. The Mur was so slippery, took way more energy out of me.

Nice to see some crowds along the road despite the rain... I'd like to live in one of those houses on the road so I could just look out the window, watch the peloton go by, and then get on with my day.

Riders climbing Huy now for the first time.

Just tuned in and I (again) and right about the first thing Bengtsch says is that they are going up the Cote de Cevap. This is probably a mixture of Cevappi and Kebab. So what can we ask more of today?

I hear Jens, been a while since I've watched in German. when something changed in the satellite and my dish on the roof went Eurosport German for a few years.
ok, today my Fleche will be in German

Is the road quality normally this bad on Huy? Super gravelly on the sides
Yeah... Quite a lot worse than Flanders, I'd say. Loads of gravel roads and cobbles around.

edit: you were talking about the Mur de Huy, not Wallonia in general. Bear with me, I have a migraine...

Vervaeke in front of the peloton, and Van Wilder on the wheel of Evenepoel. Are those the only 2 left for Evenepoel?

Also, Rolf Sørensen made me lose my mind by claiming that the Meuse was the border of Flanders and Wallonia. What on earth?!
