Just started watching live. Contador is riding with a teammate between the cars chasing the bunch. Has he had a mechanical?

Yes, he was adjusting his saddle while sitting on it.

This might be the most strung out peleton i've ever seen. Beautiful scenery, great early stage in the making hopefully.

This stage is far too early for any of the big names to take a risk. Thinking about Rui Costa.
It isn't a huge risk to attack on the final part of the last climb when the descent is so fast that there's very little chance you will be caught.

I guess the question is can QS keep the jersey.
Depends more on TJ, Roche and Dennis than QS. Especially as only Alaphillipe is ahead of Wilco now; everyone else is a couple of seconds back, behind Froome even.

I doubt the final climb suits Dennis. Maybe TJ and Roche if they're on a good day.
QS' defending the lead, there my wondering comes from.

Is there a live feed now that works in the US? Fubo doesn't start for another 20 minutes.

Just before I tune in or read any of this.

The Yates brothers are probably the biggest rivals, but such an early mountain stage is hard to predict. There should be a strong breakaway and the leading GC contenders and teams might be happy with it.

3:30 at the bottom of La Rabassa is not much. The break will probably get caught, which could mean more action in the peloton.

This last 44km should be pretty good. Gap to the break already coming down. Break still a chance though. AG2R setting it up nicely for Geniez by having Dumont go early so Geniez got a test from doing any work in the break. Still, it probably comes back. I'll say Jungels for the win.

Sky driving the chase. Break and peloton are looking ragged. Could be we'll see some attacks with GC consequence. At least I hope so.

Rabassa looks like a long, nasty climb IRL.
