I thought Vos would easily get past, but I had also expected her to start sprinting before Gerritse did. Well done by SDW.

Kasia keeps getting top 10s in bunch sprints, something which is often hard enough for her to do from a group of 9 riders.

Rooijakkers +3:45 mins today.

Yeah, it seems that group gave up, because considering they stopped riding at the front for a while, they shouldn't have lost that much time. Rooijakkers had of course already lost time yesterday, but wasn't out of the fight for the podium yet.

“No one expects the Spanish echelons.” Or it seemed for that group.

She seems to be happy at the team, and the fact that she's dating one of their employees possibly doesn't make it less likely that she'll be staying.

Lippert is the type of rider needed at Jayco. Someone who could be a leader and finish off races. You would get total support from the team.

Question is how hard the GC riders will want to push it today with what's coming up tomorrow in mind. Vos, and possibly other fast riders, may be able to survive if the pace isn't too fast.

Santesteban, if she's feeling okay after her crashes yesterday, will be hoping to defend her jersey, but it seems Ghekiere is dreaming of becoming the first rider to win the QOM in all 3 GT-ish races (AVV never won it in the Vuelta because there wasn't a classification in 2021, Vollering hasn't (yet) won it in the Giro, and Lucinda Brand hasn't won it in the Tour).

If she manages it, it will have taken her only 10 months to accomplish, although it has to be mentioned that the constantly unlucky Clara Emond was still leading the competition in the Giro when she got hit by heat stroke and had to abandon.

Ghekiere has however not lost any unnecessary time yet and could therefore be denied if she tries to go up the road from the start of the stage.

I agree that Lippert is currently better than what they have for multiple races, but Smulders, Wyllie, if she's staying and finds some form, and Trinca Colonel should in theory all be further from their peaks than her. Another option would be to strengthen the group of Italian riders with Persico and/or Borghesi.

Edit: Right after you posted, Movistar actually confirmed that Lippert has extended for 3 years. They must be reading the forum ;)

Indeed, and really to all of them, all sounds horrific.

Hope it does not put Mittenwallner off too much, so much potential, but certainly in mountain biking she is often reticent at the start to get to involved.

First degree burns are equivalent to a normal sunburn. Also I don‘t think anything was broken, just some big hematoma probably. Still, respect for finishing with a hurting face.

Mitterwallner was probably riding on a lot of adrenaline after the crash. Whether it was smart to continue I can't say, but she hasn't started today.

A spectator lost her balance and fell into some riders during the neutral part. Only one rider from Fenix hit the ground.

That happened yesterday.

All breakaway attempts have been closed down so far. They will start climbing Moncayo soon.

My bad. Didn’t see the date on the video.

Curious about how they will race today. And with the technical descent in the end. Thinking Vos will be the main favorite.

They are going to twiddle away one of the 1st decent climbs (it's no monster by any means) by riding a' bloc? :( I guess no break got away early.
