Lance had better come clean or Oprah is going to f***ing disembowel him!

Uh, not quite. She couldn't disembowel a chicken.

It's all about the $$$. Eff'n wh0res, both of them. They're going to milk this for all it's worth. After all, this world is full of dumbsh!ts that will literally buy every thing O peddles.

Hey mountainrman, For someone who lives in Northern U.K. and is not an Armstrong supporter, that was quick of you to spot the Oprah news and start a thread on it. Thanks for that.

Last October you said a way back for Armstrong was to write a major best-selling book and donate the proceeds to Livestrong. Is that happening?

I agree. No chance. He may cry. Look it the camera, pause, wipe his brow and say there's things he "regrets" but won't go much further.

I'd say he's going to talk about Mom a lot!

Will Oprah give him those big sad eyed " I know what you're going through" looks along with a few sniffs and dabbing a tissue at the corners of her eyes then queue the quietly restrained emotional violins in the background...
Maybe too, she should fess up about how much she paid him to come on, what, you think he'd do that for nothing? Business is business..
Anyway one looks at it, it is a soft attempt to re-enter the court of public opinion, the sort of approach us cynical so and so's love as it's so pathetic and absent in any form of contrition.. He really is a totally audacious bast**d

No. Opposite. The press is really ****ed. Have you not been following?

Yeah - the only onees' that noticabley called him out were Kimmage and Walsh.
Not seen any evidence of anyone calling him out until recently apart from those two.
+ to this there are still a lot of LA defenders amongst the press at present who despite the overwhelming evidence still support him (Sally whats er name etc. various others)

Love this

just because he is going on Oprah doesn't mean he's going to confess...

Maybe we’re all looking at this wrong. This isn’t about LA trying to get some money and positive publicity. Oprah, now on the decline, is trying to tap into the ultra-lucrative Clinic market.

Oprah may have fight Vaughters for it. He was here last year trying to score personality points from the Clinic 12.

He.will.not.confess.

He is going to take us through a "Lance is the victim" tour of bullsh!t and nothing more. He will concede that maybe he has done some things he wished he hadn't but the USADA singled him out for no good reason, and for anyone to say that his wins were due to anything but his dedication to his training is just a lie. All of his peers think he still won, and to take it away considering what was going on in the era just proves that this is a vendetta by Tygart and nothing more. He just wants to concentrate on ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________<- fill in with Cancer Shield...and oh yea, I want to compete in Tri and asshats like Dan Empfield want me there. I'm not going to drag other people into this (when asked about Johan), because I don't want to be like those sad pathetic people like Floyd and Tyler who nobody would even know about if it weren't for me.

Bank on it.

I think this is about right...

It won't make a bit of difference. Lance is still banned. He has no sponsors. He has no paid speeches. The press hates him. Oprah is fat and over the hill. This joke of a confession will be a laughingstock.

Oh man, this is awesome. I was waiting for the desperate cries of attention to come after the 'being completely ignored' thing got old. I don't know much about image rehabilitation, but I do know that appearing on Oprah ain't gonna get him any titles back, and I don't think a disingenuous 'confession' is going to win him many fans. That aside, he doesn't even have a sport to come back to, he's not a Michael Vick or even a Tiger Woods. He's irrelevant forever, and this is the start of his sad cries into the darkness to try to reinvigorate what is already dead.

You know Race Radio, you've been saying for a long time that Armstrong would appear on Oprah, and I never thought it would happen.

Man, oh man I can't believe it. I think I'll join you in this collective laugh-

Absolutely spot-on about Oprah. Imagine publishing a magazine where SHE are on the cover EVERY SINGLE MONTH. I can't even fathom the type of hubris it takes to pull that off with a straight face, or how no one in the media has ever called her out on it.

Her and Lance were made for each other.

Yeah sure nobody else - she was the only journalist that stuck up for Lance or didn't accuse Lance ???
I'm so naive - journalist's are looking for payback for riding the Lance Armstrong gravy train. 'How dare he lie to them!' Why did I think that Liggett & Co (please don't bother sending m message back saying 'what just Jenkins & Liggett?) just check out the various threads on the clinic (I seem to remember there's one started by Mrs John Murphy on the subject but there's probably more).
Your press will get it's payback stories are stories and someone I'm sure will make his/her name

With each day passing, the more disrespect I have for Armstrong. If you are going to confess to something as major as this, after 14 years of lies and deceit, hold a news conference and invite all major media. Be a man and face the music. Do it the proper way. Going on Oprah? What a wimp. I hope his kids find out about this when they grow up and emancipate from this SOB. He doesn't deserve any respect.

I too would like to see a more productive forum than what can be had on the O Sho. This situation is like any political issue in the U.S., polemic and emotionally driven. I am always amazed at how people get such a powerful attachment to professional athletes that they really know nothing about. Many minds will not be changed no matter what, and many more will find subsequent means of justification. So be it.

But anyway, yeah, it would be nice to see a surprise visitor by the name of Tygart and maybe a Tyler and Floyd. Of course Steve Wilkos would need to be on standby. Get them all together and deal with it like adults rather than behind the back sniping and media leaks. First public appearance for quite some time though, my bet is he will get a standing O.
