I just hope Oprah put a clause in the contract which says either he comes clean, or the deal is off.

That's a good point, to those claiming he's going to continue to deny I doubt Oprah would have him on if that was the case.

What will it change? Cycling has lost its credibility with farce record book. I don't buy the story "there have been 99 TDFs, we have 92 winners and everything is better now". Nothing changed in cycling in 1998, 2006, 2010, 2012 etc., nothing will change in next 20 years. Just watch Sky 2012, the presentation of TDF 2013 (some dopers disgraced, all the others cheered) and you'll see nice old stuff. Everyone was earning money because of Lance and nobody cared about the "truth"; the same thing happens now, just the name of "hero" is different.

Thought it was all some sort of bizarre dream.
Haha funny so Travis Tygart is doing 60 minutes, whilst LA cops out on Oprah. What a pi$$ taker!
Agree with other posters on nature of this so called fess up it will be very choreographed, of course he'll know all the questions also agree with other posters saying its about getting the cash cow back on the road. Need to get the Wonderball movie back in production (more money, more money), there's a lot of believer's out there who need to be bled dry. Their begging for him to comeback (see comments in his twitter & stava accounts) and bleed them dry. If he doesn't comeback soon there will be a vacuum & they'll have to go back to believing in unicorns, leprechauns or Mormonism or something. Can only hope this all blows up in his face and he ends up in jail, somehow get the feeling it won't though. I think it might end up going along the M. Jackson route after he paid for charges to be dropped. I.e his reputation will be irrevocably damaged with some hardcore cycling fans but the blind masses would be able worship at the temple of LA again. That's where the money is these days for Lancey baby

If there's ever a Troll Hall of Fame, Armstrong should the first inductee. It's really impressive how even when we think everything's over already and he's done, he can still throw us here in the Clinic in a fit. :D

Stop being such downers guys.

I for one is looking forward to this hardhitting interview.

"Do you love your family?"

and

"Do you believe in God ?"

She will have him sweating bullets...

What are the chances his girls will come curl up on daddie's lap during the "interview"?

I want Jon Stewart to handle this, face to face. Although he was oddly soft with Marion Jones - I imagine that was because he knows a lot more about politics than about sports.

Jon Stewart is not always great with the confrontational interviews, he's sometimes messed them up in past. I think he could take on Armstrong, but I'm not certain of it.

So true. The power he holds over the clinic is hilarious.

No way he will admit all with the legal issues still hanging around (if they still are). Hopefully he will drop a few bombs like the one in my signature, attack his victimized :)rolleyes:) accusers, and add in some witch hunt and level playing field stuff. All along Oprah sits there and comforts him with softball questions with little follow up. He will just skirt around some definite answers. Nothing to see here. The haters will break out in a rash.

Go Lance! Never give up! :D

the lance effect

love him or hate him without doubt lance has been the BIGGEST story Ever

in the clinic.......................look at how this thread has exploded

we will all be taking note....................i only see a cringe inducing

performance............i hope to ignore but i'm too weak to look away

would any forum member leap at the chance to be on oprah?...........

is such an appearance a sign of utter desperation?

Admitting doping will not have any of the race ban rolled back tho. Bans are reduced for cooperating with investigations, so he needs to talk about how it all happened.
The money trail and the drug transport trail, JB, Ferrari, all them.
And since he is a convicted ringleader (not alledged, the body which he gave jurisdiction to ruled on him) throwing a few minions under the teambus is not going to cut it.

I just cannot see it happening.

Maybe people are already indifferent to the do's or do nots of wonderboy.

You really shouldn't make a one time Road Rage Cycling World Champion bigger than he actually is, he is of the stature of Astarloa, nothing more, nothing less.

The power the clinic holds over you is even funnier.

The Oprah interview is not going to make it all better for Lance. He likes to play to the public but that won't help his legal problems go away. It won't let him in his triathlons. No. He wants to be the martyr now. He wants to be Robin Hood, championing the cancer cause.
I don't thnk he will give us much of all his doping, abusing, bullying, bribing, threatening etc. in interview. It will be milk toast. He is looking for symathy, thats all.

It has always puzzled me why Armstrong hasn't gone down the A-Rod/McGwire route and done the 'tearful' interview with Oprah or someone like that. I am sure that such an interview with lots of mentions of cancer and how everyone else was doping and he was only doing it to keep up, I am sure that all the fanboys would still support him.

You see the Uniballer should have hired me as his PR advisor ages ago.

If it is of any consolation, apparently OJ has claimed that Oprah is partially responsible for him being in prison.

Simpson “doesn’t like Oprah. He feels like she’s partially responsible for him being in jail now,” Pardo claims. “She never let anyone like me come on the show and talk about him.”

Guess he is going to be even more upset when Lance gets on there.

Dave.

Today some chap on the wireless stated that David Frost interviewing Nixon managed to get him to own up to Watergate, now whether Oprah reckons she's going to put herself in that rarified status is unknown.. It would cement her status as the harda$$ that got Lance to spill his guts, but in saying that, is she prepared to interview a sociopath like him, he knows all the tricks and can obviously lie convincingly...

I agree. No chance. He may cry. Look it the camera, pause, wipe his brow and say there's things he "regrets" but won't go much further.

I'd say he's going to talk about Mom a lot!

ohh, Oedipus, Lance versed in classics mythology :)

Frost was originally a tabloid guy before this put him on the serious map.
