Well, well, well . . . The inexorable pull of Oprah cannot be resisted.

And it is live, too . . .

Oprah's no dummy and she'd never betray her ultra-loyal fans by letting Lance get away with lying to them.

Lance had better come clean or Oprah is going to f***ing disembowel him!

Really? In the UK and not seen her much but I thought she was like the softest interview ever.

When people first brought up Oprah as a joke, I thought it'd stay as that. This is too funny.

Agreed - thought it was just an option on another poll..

So do we know if this is a "tell-all" as CN's headline says or Armstrong's going to stick to his story ?

Should be interesting either way.

Would doubt its a 'tell all' considering its Oprah - more of a Marion Jones fanfest

Oprah doesn't do hard interviews. This is Lance controlling the message. Yet again. Hope it backfires big time!

Oprah's fans love her because she is honest. If Lance wants to bask in the love, he'd better bring some truth.

Don't think he's capable of the bold part but would love to be proved wrong.:)
Marion Jones says otherwise no?

another twist in the saga, lance on oprah.

"that doping thing, really it was all a big mistake oprah, just a simple misunderstanding, i really want to talk about my new book. . . . "

This forum cannot contain the commentary I want to make regarding this development. Thank god for Twitter.

She takes second place to Larry King and edges out Barbara Walters by a nose. But, Larry is retired now and his replacement, Piers Morgan, is a wannabe harder interview.

So, yes, she is the softest interview possible. There are even papers* written on soft news and 'the Oprah Effect' which has produced the new definition: Soft Media.

Dave.

Others include:
The Oprah Effect: How Soft News Helps Inattentive Citizens Vote Consistently
The Oprah Factor: The Effects of a Celebrity Endorsement in a Presidential Primary Campaign

They're hidden in the side pocket in his Suitcase of Courage.

I called this first.....and was actually serious.

Per-recorded and no way a full confession. Not even half a confession.

He too p1ss weak to admit.

At best valed hints at doping.

He's not strong enough.

Invisible backpack of sadness and that's it.

Oprah will kiss up or kick down, Jack Welsh style.

If he's aiming to confess he should be doing this before the USADA, WADA, etc.
American housewives don't need an explanation.

Perhaps they'll be interested if it involves Tom Cruise-like antics, jumping up and down on the sofa waxing lyrical about meeting Ms. EPO, true love at first sight. Entirely seductive :D

See 1:20. "Luuuuuuuuuuved the power. Just jumping up mountains like sofas...The 'scientology' of cycling told me I just had to take the next step because all the bad guys was doing it."

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=znsXA2aTXCE

(Oprah should spring a surprise and invite Travis, Tyler, and Floyd as mystery guests. Now, THAT would be entertaining.)

LOL! You all said this a long time ago!!! I can't believe it's actually happening! Anyway, he'll talk about cancer only. Losing his hair. Chemo. That sort of stuff.

He.will.not.confess.

He is going to take us through a "Lance is the victim" tour of bullsh!t and nothing more. He will concede that maybe he has done some things he wished he hadn't but the USADA singled him out for no good reason, and for anyone to say that his wins were due to anything but his dedication to his training is just a lie. All of his peers think he still won, and to take it away considering what was going on in the era just proves that this is a vendetta by Tygart and nothing more. He just wants to concentrate on ______________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________<- fill in with Cancer Shield...and oh yea, I want to compete in Tri and asshats like Dan Empfield want me there. I'm not going to drag other people into this (when asked about Johan), because I don't want to be like those sad pathetic people like Floyd and Tyler who nobody would even know about if it weren't for me.

Bank on it.

Whatever he's doing it ain't just about the bike anymore!

- My guess it's a watered down version of the truth (having said that if he does it - it's more than i ever expected)

- Could be a cynical attempt at the popoular vote - as long as he has mainstream onside - Does it matter about cycle fans.? Most of his fans weren't proper cycle fans anyway...

Since this forum is heavily populated by guys, I have no idea what Lance's reputation is like amongst women.

I heard he got a bad rap for ditching kik for Sheryl. He seems a bit of a womaniser.

I believe the term you are looking for would be ho boy aka a pig.

I agree. No chance. He may cry. Look it the camera, pause, wipe his brow and say there's things he "regrets" but won't go much further.

I'd say he's going to talk about Mom a lot!

Guys, you could do a world of good if you posted a few comments on Oprah's website, here:

http://www.oprah.com/pressroom/Lance-Armstrong-on-Oprahs-Next-Chapter

LA is obviously going to try to use Oprah as a "soft" springboard to rehabilitate his reputation. He could not possibly have chosen a better interviewer and audience for this purpose, as her fans are largely clueless about cycling or what actually went on during the Lance years. They could stand to be educated, and I think you're just the folks to do it.
