However, I would point out that while the question of Lance's behaviour towards his daughter in that particular instance is a valid topic of discussion that should be acceptable here, it is not appropriate to use this as a springboard to re-launch the "think of the children" aspect of Lance's doping issues.

More than once on this forum, a thread has been closed due to bringing Lance's kids into it. I'd suggest that if you want to keep the thread open, you go back to discussing the triathlon video and leave the newspaper reading and lies, etc, etc out of it.

once again though, I'd point out

You have to feel sorry for all the other dads in the race. You really do.
Honest dads. Hard working non-cheating dads. Where were their kids?

I'd imagine that they would have been behind all the barriers and media scrum...

Welcome to Britain where we actually tell it like It is. I don’t think the intern tentacles reach as far as the UK. The Daily Mail is infamous in the UK. It’s not a tabloid but generally read of by Old English types who love the pound and the Queen. Most of its readers will stop you to tell you what’s wrong with the world.

Judging by the comments and not that I think he cares much but the tide has really turned on him. No one believes anything he has to say. His actions tend to speak louder than his words as exemplified by the triathlon. For those saying he was too tired is ********. He had enough energy to be high fiving the crowd but suddenly was “tired and in the zone” when he got smoked on the finish line!

I've been in Britain for 28 years 9 weeks and one day, but thank you for the delayed welcomen. I know exactly how ragged the Daily Mail is. I watched his entire taped testimony/inquiry(whatever) two? years ago and all the lies you could imagine were trying helplessly to conceal themselves inside this desperate characters empty shell, yeah I know exactly how unhinged he is, but that is also the vehicle that the shady operators want and need to deliver the goods on the road, he will end up a desperate failure, doesn't matter what others, any others of what ever side, think.

Maybe George Clooney et al is not a narcissistic d-bag who stays up all night steamed that someone somewhere on the Internet said an ill word about them, especially when it is true, then holds a grudge about for years. Or, in other words, maybe Clooney grew out of his immature phase when he was fifteen or sixteen.

There is strong argument to say if you start using heavy stuff, whatever it might be, at 16 and continue with that for 25 years, then emotionally you are in the place where you first took the substance that altered you. The only growth possible is when you cease completely and recognise the power it had over you and become willing to change. But somehow I don't see him recognising anything that interferes with the smooth running of the myth. No sign of the rock bottom yet. Pantinis rock bottom coincided with his death, it's a nasty business addiction and it brings on the most extraordinary behaviour from its unwitting exponents!!

If I were him i would spend some time with my family. What does he have to proof, he can only loose, or get caught if he's stupid.
Problem is he's not going to get caught. If we've learned anything over the past year and a half it's that Lance is untouchable. There simply exists a different set of rules for him than for others.

Wtf

12 pages. On this topic. And it's in the clinic!

Pharmstrong is a do*che (and it appears Danjo is as well), but it does not seem like a thread that needs this much ink.

I'll let myself out now :D

Bottom is found one way or another, and not always in the way that people might expect.

:D The Mail isn't so much a tabloid as a printed version of an internet troll. People buy it specifically to get wound up and indignant about stuff.

It is interesting to see what facts were ignored, how Joe Papp actually has the gall to question other peoples ethics and ability to be a good parent and how BroDeal just has to try to keep an argument going.

Uh,oh, look what I did. I'd better duck as the insults, personal attacks and childish excuses will soon be flying my way!

wtf? I didn't offer any opinion on Lance's parenting, but I will say that you're a putz for trying to put words into my mouth.

"A printed version of an internet troll". Not sure it's that way around - the Mail was riling people up before anyone even knew what a message board was. Still, in terms of newspaper type, the Mail falls between tabloid and broadsheet in the type of newspaper it is.

Many of the lead articles and subjects have an extremely antagonistic, reactionary slant and a kind of campaign-style nature, and the columnists are, in general, utterly despicable. In that respect, it is very tabloidy. On the other hand, their newsdesk is (according to my journalist friend) one of the best in the country when it comes to collection and reporting of the facts, which puts it more alongside the tabloids.

Personally, I wouldn't be seen dead with it, due to some of the things that have been written in it, but it's definitely not a "pure" tabloid.

That goes to show that when questioned about it, he will look his kids straight in the eye and lie to them in the same way he lies to everyone else.

I found it. It actually appeared in the Comeback book by Wilkinson titled Lance the worlds greatest athlete or something over the top like that:

Armstrong, who has faced constant doping allegations despite never testing positive, is also keen to prove he is clean and hopes by racing the Tour again his four children will read about it.

"I'm doing this for my kids," he says in the book.

"With news so accessible these days on the web, they'll be able to read any story they want. And I don't want them growing up and reading all these things about me and doping."

Yet you dont appreciate your huge hypocrisy. What's new from a fan of a failed parent as part of the list massive faults from Armstrong.

I dont understand why all Amrstrong's supporters are still here. Surely you should be on tri forums doing your master's bidding.

Per post or per word?

Do you get paid per post or per word by the PR firm when you submit your reports to Armstrong's PR firm? Just wondering.

Its so obvious because you're so blind.

I find the responses to be quite amusing.

- BroDeal tries to start an argument by insulting me and lying(sorry Bro but I won't be arguing and I came into the thread with some quotes earlier, not starting trouble).

- JoePapp decides to focus on one thing I said and ignore his own comment about LA's daughter finding out he is a "d**k" (yep, that has nothing to do with ones ability to be a good parent).

-bennotti, how can you possibly be so vehemently against Armstrong (including going after people who do not act the same as you) while defending a guy who took everything under the sun to try to be a good cyclist, then inserted himself in the media at every chance when the Landis case hit, then got busted for dealing drugs? Hate Armstrong all you want for doping (though I do think guys like you have taken it beyond all rationality, this thread as a great example), but how can you rationalize defending someone like Papp?

-Completely unrelated to the above, but the quotes by people who were their are still conveniently ignored.

I am curious why you would even ask this question and make that statement considering the only thing I have said about Armstrong is that he doped and provided quotes from people at the triathlon that might provide some sort of insight into the insight that has sent some of you guys into an orgasmic tizzy.

Using your logic should I ask how much you get paid by Walsh and tell you that it's obvious because you have mental issues that force you to think of nothing but hate and anger for Armstrong. (see how easily I can turn a post into something it is not)

As I tell all children that I meet ,"hate" is a very strong word and use it wisely. There is no "hate" in my valid question which you actually did not deny. Interesting.
