That Lance Tattoo is ok I guess. Looks like the Victory Salute from the "No Gifts Stage" if I'm not mistaken. That's cool. But I would pick the Lance Face from the "Simeoni Staredown" instead. Classic.

You could put Novi on one arm and Lance on the other. Kind of like Cain and Abel.

Of course, way back when Wikipedia was first created, I did a write-up of the term "Fred", and can see that it has been heavily dilluted by people who obviously were not close to the scene that originated the term.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fred_(bicycling)

There has been a comingling of the term Fred and poseur by people who don't know the difference. It is frustrating. A Fred is not a poseur. The two are pretty much diametrically opposite to each other.

It is like the Internet dumbasses who use loose for lose.

personally, I prefer to see the livestrong bracelets double folded as cockrings in the bathhouses of San Fran.

These last few postings with pictures have made me feel very sick to my stomach. I would have something else to add but I think the Delta Bravo trigeeks have been covered.

HOW in the hell can LA go to KONA without qualifying? That is a rule correct? I might be wrong but I thought you had to earn a spot in it first. Hell he will end up being like the rest of the Delta Bravo’s that get into a particular Marathon that I like with a “corporate sponsor slot”.

What a bunch of Crap it is to find out that the person who is standing next to you before the start is not only not capable of holding a sub 5:45 minute mile for 26.2 AND if that was not enough …..they did not qualify at all. They have a friend of a friend who works for Quaker oats and they came to the marathon ……..

That is exactly how he will get in, corporate sponsor or he can actually buy his way in for big bucks. I know two guys that did that.
Lance will get crushed in Kona. He is not even close to top guys, even juiced he can't.

More likely he'll be paid to race whether he qualifies or not. Armstrong is the best thing to happen to triathlon.......ever.

He might actually give Joe and Jane six-pack a reason to watch other than the prospect of seeing some woman **** herself as she crawls to the finish line.

I think he will qualify as a pro - given that the 70.3 races are rich in qualifying points. But he's already paid for his ticket with his "partnership" between Livestrong and WTC - they have discretion to award him a wild card.

I'm not so sure that he will get crushed in Kona. His 3:45 half ironman result is world class for that distance. It may not translate to a decent full distance race in Kona but we'll see after Ironman France.

He is doing triathlon for 3 reasons: 1) to make lots of money 2) to kick everyone's *** 3) to **** with their minds at the same time

If he could still do all 3 things as a pro cyclist he still be cycling.

I don't agree that he is the best thing that happened to triathlon. People will follow triathlons that he is in because of him, not the sport. Once he leaves tri, so will his followers. WTC are fools if they think any different.

Can you explain this?

Are his fans akin to a cult?

They are awaiting the return of the Hale Bopp comet. Luckily the tard that owns Slowtwitch will make sure that no one posts any dissent about castration.

One can't get on the mothership with their junk? What's the story?

How juiced up are those tri dudes anyway? It kind of strikes me triathletes can prob score drugs from three different pools as it were. Surely there is enough money in it for the elite guys that there would be more than a few having a crack. Maybe some of our triathlon lovin buddies could give us the wisper?

Anyway Lance will love all that high fiven action that happens down the finishing straight and there will be plenty of photo ops with other participants that have lost a leg to cancer and the like. Really Lance was made for triathlon and it is just unfortunate that he took a diversion through the cycling world prior to arriving back to where he should have been all along.

Watch him dump the **** on cycling and big up how unbelievable the triathlon community is as we get closer to Kona. And while I'm on a roll, is there much "buying" of races that happens in triathlon?

"Watch him dump the **** on cycling..."

He just might say that he doped in cycling because it is so dirty, but Tri is pure and clean :D

I've not done a triathlon in 15 years, so he's not my problem. I'm talking about from a purely marketing perspective it's huge for triathlon to have Armstrong doing it. He's got more name recognition than every other professional triathlete there has ever been, combined.

Cheers for that, much as I thought - loved this:

"McMahon tested positive for erythropoietin (EPO) during an out of competition control in June 2005. She maintains that she did not take any doping until well after the 2004 Athens Olympics where she came 10th and that she did it for therapeutic reasons only."

Yeah right "therapeutic reasons" - so idiots like cyclists but just dont get the same publicity.

Of course the only thing that matters is that more Speedo are sold

After USADA sanctions him, launching a giant $hitstorm, Triathlon will realize that the honeymoon was short and they now have to deal with the same toxic nightmare that infected cycling for years......but that doesn't really matter as long as they sell more wetsuits right?

We shouldn't suggest Armstrong brought doping to cycling or triathlon. There has been doping in cycling for hundreds of years.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_doping_cases_in_cycling

Liked this bit:

1930

The acceptance of drug-taking in the Tour de France was so complete by 1930 that the rule book, distributed by Henri Desgrange, reminded riders that drugs would not be provided by the organisers.

And the post above yours lists the cases previously in triathlon.

Nice try, but nobody is suggesting that Armstrong brought doping to cycling or Triathlon.

Armstrong brings chaos. Just as he brought it to cycling when he paid off the UCI and spent a decade harassing riders, journalists, teammates etc. he will do the same to Triathlon.

Have fun with it, he is your problem now. No returns or refunds.
