Well, if the UCI was offered a bribe and took it, and USADA was offered a bribe and turned it down...I wonder why USA Cycling was left out of the graft...or maybe I should ask: I wonder how much they were offered, and whether or not they took it?

Doesn't Weisel, Stapleton or cronies pretty much own USAC

The strategy is looking a little more clear here in the US. The team and the man decided he had to confess at least something. They probably even knew it would be with US superstar Oprah (nothing in writing yet, of course). So they did their usual move, what can we get for this. They trotted over to Tygart and Co. to see if they could shake him down. Alas for them, same result as the just revealed 2004 "donation". "No.

In most recent US media stories, Herman now saying something like I think, maybe, there was a request for assistance.... but I don't really recall anything too clearly.

The revelation of the attempted payment to USADA kind of blew up their nifty PR glide path to Oprah.

all IMHO, of course.

Is there a log of Lance's donations to any organization Cycling or not? This would be rather entertaining.

+1. And the reason why TT came out on the attempted payment now.

Game on again for the hearts and souls of the public. To shore up Livestrong and the Lance brand, but for TT and the bigger picture, can doping be justified and when do the ends justify the means ("It was always about beating Cancer Oprah").

See this being repeated a lot

Has been the strategy from the Livestrong onset, ie. if the doping thing was ever going to blow up they had an excuse and the "franchise" would not crumble.

What they underestimated was the skill with which TT executed the public media play. And it looks like TT has not stopped playing, as the game has a few rounds left (Johan, etc).

I would not be surprised to see more dirt breaking before the Oprah airing.

I bet Pelley is loving this after all the trouble Lance and co. gave CBS after the 60 minutes segment about Tyler. Looks like they may be pushing the "why did the Justice Dept. drop the case" angle.
That is what I'd like to see more than anything. At this point I feel more sorry for Armstrong than angry. But I can't think about Birotte without wanting to put my fist through a wall. I want to know why the investigation was dropped suddenly, apparantly without much consulation, while agents were busy gathering evidence for charges they expected would soon be filed against Armstong. And exactly why didn't Birotte share the evidence the Feds had gathered with USADA?

If nothing else, some heat on Birotte, may temper any political medling to keep the DOJ from joining Floyd's whistleblower case.

Oprah's best show in 2012 scored a 2.4 rating.

That's 2.4 million people. Not that great. Less than 1% of the American population.

The real question is, will SteepHill.tv stream it :D

So Tim Herman basically calls Travis a liar. Nice

This is evidence lance is a cheapskate. If I am going to pay off USADA I am going large with my first offer, $1,000,000. This is peanuts. $250,000 is what you give the "Cocktail waitress" you knocked up in Vegas.

Tim Herman is a walking, talking advertisment for the state of ethics in the legal profession.

Shouldn't honest lawyers (I am sure that exists, just like clean cyclists) be doing something to clean up their profession?

Obviously there are advisers who want him to confess so they cans till milk the guy. At his current situation stands he is not making anyone any money. So get the Cancer Jesus to confess to doping because he had no dad, everyone was doing it, he did less than others, he did it for cancer kids, etc etc all to get the Cancer jesus benevolent cash cow back on track milking all those bleeding hearts out there who dont want to belieive in unicorns.

But 2.4million viewers is pathetic. The comedy value will be high.

You should have follow-ed me on twitter like so many other admiring cn sockpuppets and you would never have been so swindled by Lance the evil man

If that is you, it shows a lot of contempt for some on this forum.

At least he was not afraid to share the wealth. What a great humanitarian!

Exactly! And they keep bashing the Hero not only for this, but even when he, humble in nature, denies doing this.

No, RR is showing contempt for all the multiple trolls that were banned on here who came back many times to troll him.

What is your interest in RR?

None really.

I have enjoyed his posts here for a long time, finally registered to post a while ago and then saw those comments today.

I asked the question, RR has answered, all is well.
