I guess i am just optimistically hoping we don't need to take that giant step back in order to move forward. As other posters have noted most of the older doping methods used would be promptly caught by todays' tests. I would much rather see the doping agencies focus on catching tomorrow's doping methods than investing energy into the past.

And what's the point in "doping agencies focus on catching tomorrow's doping methods" if a positive test will turn negative for the right amount of money? UCI have to go, they are corrupt, it is mafia.

Wow.

I am genuinely surprised by that.

ice...given the supposedly "insane" floyd emails released today by his team at livestrong I am not...think he needs a new crew of interns over there...the CEO is getting lazy not only in going up mountains, but running his empire...

It would be interesting to know if that post is still there, or has been "removed" by now??

Heres the thing.. I am led to believe that they cant delete anything unless it is directly against the site terms and conditions, ie. swearing , harrasment etc.

They will know that people are taking fairly regularly copies of the site, screen grabs etc, and if they remove anything without fair reason they open themselves up to even more allegations.

For instance if someone posted information on the 99 retests, livestrong removing them could be seen as an attempt to hide information. They should really just disable comments.

Interesting, a dangerous development. As I have stated, I personally, don't see the value in retroactive testing from years ago. I would be ok with a 12 month period, but 8 years takes us back to an entirely different time period.

No it bloody well doesn't.

This "oh just shut up about it, it was all along time ago" won't wash.

kinda like politics...dont prosecute nixon via ford...obama now with bush and actually doing anything about crimes...not hijacking the thread here...but it is the same...why? just to keep the same bull**** going...it is the past...will hurt us to take a look at it...move on folks, nothing to see here and think positive and go forward...only way blah blah......ect ect...this sorta crap, even in an individual's life destroys...hey man, forget about your past and move on...say that to a drug addict, or embezzler...ect or whatever...but when it comes to MONEY...and that is what this is via JV...or LA...or fat mcQuail... whomever via cycling now...it is all the same...things will not change here...which is too ****ing bad because I want my sport to have some semblance of honesty...

interesting article in the huffington post

BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA - (The Borowitz Report) - Infuriated by new allegations that he took performance enhancing drugs, bicycling legend Lance Armstrong lashed out at the press today, hurling a 2008 Hyundai Sonata at a reporter.

Tracy Klugian, who covers bicycling for the Bakersfield Eagle, narrowly dodged the flying Sonata after following Mr. Armstrong to his car and peppering him with questions about steroids.

"Arrrrrrrrhhhhh!" thundered Mr. Armstrong as he threw the car some fifteen feet in the air.

Minutes after the incident, a spokesperson for the biking champion maintained that Mr. Armstrong's surprising feat of strength did not prove he was taking performance-enhancing drugs: "The Sonata is a pretty small car."

Hours earlier, Mr. Armstrong crashed out of the Tour of California race and expressed his frustration by bending his bike into a pretzel with his bare hands..

Did you have a question?

Or were you just planning on reposting my messages?

Or could you finaly make a point or offer a rebuttal? Is this too long for you?

Yes I do have a question - it is the same one I asked some posts back, twice!

It is also the same question I asked you numerous times back in August...

Can you name the people who were in the hospital room with Lance when he admitted he used EPO and other PED's?

Offer a rebuttal?
Sure .... which one of your prepared talking points would you like me address? Its just that is hard when you have another point ready and post it after 2 minutes.

And yes! I do appreciate your short concise post, thank you very much.

Seriously?

Then every cyclist can go and do the Valverde method of appealing to every court he can.

Athletes try and use new products that can enhance their performance - sometimes it can take years to develop a test for particular PED's eg: EPO was certainly around in 1990 if not earlier - the test for it came in 2001!!!

Retroactive testing and sanctions are a key component in anti-doping.

I'm listening to The Quacks Pat Maid right now, $12000, loose change.

Armstrong is most tested athlete in the World

Floyd blackmail out to try and cause as much damage as possible and

he(Lance) has never tasted (sic) positive.

Pat is a lucking flyer.

Mafia is probably close to his line, remember that the Irish always seemed to have one really dangerous fooker in the middle of the New York and Chicago Italian families, not an easy feat

Jeebus, I literally almost crashed the car at that one ( note to self - quit reading this stuff in the car) !!

There are a bunch of fanboys over there that clearly aren't on the page.....

Some of your own posts are quite funny to the other side....I suspect. Claiming Armstrong crashed on purpose and pro cycling needs to close down will have a few people smiling.

i think the livestrong comments will be shut soon.

links to micheal ashenden interviews, history of doping and the instant message convo between frankie and vaughters have appeared on there.

they cant remove them though, if they did then they are hiding the truth..

IF they own the forums, then they can do whatever they want. Having worked on websites, I've seen administrators ban those comments that they feel inflammatory, whether they were factually accurate or not.

Not on a website forum or comment section because the information posted is already common knowledge to those who follow the sport, so they would already have that information.

Basically, because Radioshack's team own the website, then they have the right to publish or cut out whatever they feel is worthy of posting. If someone is critical of their prized spokesperson, then they do have the right to moderate all comments necessary.

It almost comical the way this is imploding. It’s like an exploding cigar!

Think I might stay in the for the night and watch this unfold. Next move Floyd Landis.

Please click this link to collect your prize. Just belieze, and your broken dreams will somehow be lied to be real!

Almost as funny as the headline I saw today: "Landis goes Postal".

Brilliant. Although it looks as thou Lance is going a little postal right now.

If the case is in the hands of Federal agencies as Floyd suggests; he'll have a narrow list of topics he can discuss. If he's earnest he wouldn't want to release any credible evidence that could somehow get compromised or misinterpreted.
That silence might be harder for the RS team to deal with.

That is THE MOST over-the-top ridiculous Omerta enforcement I have ever seen. Liggett needs to retire, he's far too senile to be the spokesperson for this sport.

The fact that we've got extremely amateur public relations hacks like McQuaid and Liggett enforcing Omerta in such a heavy-handed way tells me that this situation is not going to blow over quietly.

I think the over-the-top pushback from the UCI, Ligget, and Radioshack's ridiculous e-mail release this morning shows that these people are desperate and running scared to the point that it's making them hysterical.

Yes, when someone asks for evidence rather than just joining the cult, they should retire

What did Ligget say that was wrong? Give us evidence? Sacriledge?
