Thomas just Superb and an incredible ambassador for the Sport. Great stage. Only spoilt by the absolute scum that Boo the riders.
better with boos than piss get thrown and fans attacking them

Yes, I suppose so.

There’s nothing at all wrong with booing riders. It’s an entirely civilized way to show disapproval of the behaviour of people with a public profile or platform.

Re: Le Tour '18 stage 12: Bourg-Saint-Maurice > Alpe d'Huez

This could be still quite interesting as not too many sprinting teams will be willing to chase in mountain stages just to see Sagan win.

I would not like to be the Sky dom right now. :D

What makes you say Geraint Thomas is an incredible ambassador for the Sport while being booed?

So who is an incredible ambassador for the sport ?

Just about anyone who hasn’t suddenly become a Tour contender while in the early stages of middle age.

That what people is supposed to do, when strongly in disagreement with something, in free countries I thought!

So Nibali should get st
But he won't because he isn't Froome.
The situation is not precisely analogous. The 2016 had all other kinds of chaos caused by the organiser. I'm not saying Nibali shouldn't be treated the same, but there are clear differences.

What are the clear differences? :)

I really can't remember apart from Froome running.

So the French how boos of Sky still rooted for Virenque after he was judged guilty two times, that's called double standard

Unless someone from Top 10 attacks, no one is close. They won't care.

Not sure about incredible ambassador but he's always come across pretty genial and good natured. Can't think of any controversies he's been involved in? Until now I guess...

Froome panicked...Nibalis bike was okay.

I think 162 finished yesterday, 1 DNS, 6 DNF = 155 to finish today. Jack Bauer was 148th in 37:10 which suggests quite a few miss time cut if the limit is about 35 minutes.

if they're OTL they don't usually appear in the stage classifications

Yes Cunego was a wunderkind no doubt. The Tour still has nine stages to go.

The stage finish was moved down the mountain. There were no barriers in place. The crowds were completely uncontrolled. Race vehicles were all over the place -- far, far more than they were today.

(I think it was the wrong decision then, BTW. I'd have either neutralised the 2016 stage entirely or let the results stand. So I'm not defending it, just saying that it wasn't precisely the same as today.)

Thomas first rider to win two consecutive stages on the Alps in 25 years. Since Rominger in 1993.

Geraint Thomas.

Ugrumov? Armstrong?
I think Thomas will be honored with the comparisons.

Maybe if it was Wiggins.

Judging by Thomas' usual response when they ask him something about the sport's past, his answer will be a blank faced "...I've heard of that last guy. No idea who the others are."
