On a lighter note, after the Pinot tragedy, at least Ineos will win another Tour. :(
That's the ultimate disaster. Thomas' chances to win the Tour have just gone up dramatically. Bernal won't be allowed to react. Steven K. and Buchmann are only interested in a place of honour. Pinot was the guy who closed the gap on Thomas yesterday. The others didn't even react.
That'd be horribly, really. Completely undeserved victory if it happens. Thomas was worse than Bernal on every high mountains stage. This morning, the New Kid On The Block finally was promoted into team-leadership. Now Ineos can just arrange Thomas winning the Tour nevertheless. The worst part is, if not for Thomas openly revealing what a sleazy rat he is yesterday, Bernal actually would so close to yellow he'd still end-up captain the teams gc ambitions!

Thomas had zero proper preparation, was worse than Bernal on every proper mountain stage, crashed again at the start of the week and yet, might still win the 2019 Tour de France by scripted reality. And it really would be scripted reality this time around.

Seriously, I'm begging it doesn't happen, but I fear the worst... They are such a stupid, nationalistic team after all!

Prepare to be brutalized. (I'm doing the same.)

How much time does the break need at the bottom of the Iseran?
Some really good riders in that break. But a few of those will drop back to help. So I'd say 3 mins at least, probably more like 5.

I can't see peloton going faster than the break on Iseran. Who's gonna pull, Deceuninck? Castro is dead, only Poels is left. FDJ won't chase now, Jumbo has De Plus in the break, and in the break strongest guys will go full gas.
I think Movi wants to do something on Iseran. I wouldn't underestimate Jumbo either. And Ineos needs crack Alaphillipe. They might not go all out but they"ll keep the pace high: Van Baarle is ready to drop back from the break, and don't underestimate Poels.

Adam Yates dropped from the peloton

Simon Yates upfront

???????????????

Adam is 26th/27th on GC. Why wouldn’t Simon be given free reign?

who said anything about free reign ?

If I have to spell it out ..its a commentt on their form/ability

Simon didn’t want to ride GC after the Giro, Adam’s target was GC but competely messed up his form after an impressive spring. But we’ve known that for a while now

I disagree. Thomas rides like a boss
