Nibali just wasting energy here. Let Sky do the work and save your powder for later.

Not necessarily. If Froome is coming in undercooked it could be a good move. You'll miss 100% of the shots you don't take...

Soler must not burn himself quickly. He is needed until 13 to go.

Valverde may very well have reached the break by then.

Very difficult. Plus the break won't pull with a fresher Valverde in it.
They'll let Valverde do the majority of the work.

I don't mind him attacking here. But don't ride at the front and set the pace for them. Valverde should be inconsequential to Nibali.

While I agree, people must test Froome. Make it hard for him. Maybe they are letting Valverde go because Froome is not in top shape? If that is the case, better make it hard and then attack rather than attacking too late or not at all.

Strange riding by Nibali (unless he really attacks on the top and therefore hopes he can wear out Froome before). He is only saving Froome's domestiques.

It's more probably the fact Sky believes Kwiat, Poels and Bernal can easily bring back Valverde on last MTF

A deal can be struck.

Like what? Valverde rides last MTF at break pace?

Barguil for stage, Valverde for GC. Not unheard of.

No, but the valley and not so steep parts of the climb. He is not going to be much faster there alone, not even considering the energy wasted. With 13 to go, he has to go alone, thats true.

No need to continue this.
Valverde won't catch the break.
