Dumoulin is very good tactically - attacking just where Froome and Thomas could've used the flattening terrain to sandwich him between them. They tried that later but by then the terrain wasn't suitable anymore and momentum was lost.

I don't see Dumoulin breaking the Skypesos but its great to see him matching eight riders on his own and even greater that he will challenge them in the TT, too.

Or a healthy Landa? They knew coming into the Tour Valverde had no intention on having any kind of form for this race. He's made it very clear that it's not one of his goals and that his plan all along was to save his 2nd peak for the Vuelta/Worlds combo at the end of the season instead of doing his normal 3 peaks for a season.
