If he didn't work, we would be watching sky train casually riding to finish. It's not like the GC guys in break are really cooperating.

so what's the difference who's working to pull them back if the break isn't working together ?

It's not the pace that Sky themselves would choose so this messes with their watts game little bit and by going quicker than sky otherwise would you can set up attack later.

Yeah you can't just let them set a pace that keeps all the sky doms with the yellow jersey - gotta try something.

except if they did that and the gap to the break kept increasing they'd have to pick up the pace , it was too early to do this for lotto , should have waited and then picked up the pace
