Oh, I get it now. First we can't question Lance because that would mean we love cancer, next we can't question him because it will kill cycling......what's next? If we question him somebody kills a puppy?

Why I am sometimes not proud to be American

God you folks are simple. Europe and the world laughs when we try to impeach a president for fellatio. In Europe this pot stirring that LeMond choses is making the US cycling look silly.
Europ will probably laugh if Lance goes down. I thought and think that Greg is more taker then giver. What is Greg doing for cycling now? I guess its good it gives us something to blog about.
Cycling a rich tradition of doping. Nothings changed different faces.
Like I said Greg starts a team starts manufacturing bikes in the US goes to races sponsers teams now hey I'll buy a LeMond for my kids and I will ride one. I would not buy a Trek LeMond because Greg puts his name on it .
Is that going to make me healthier happier and a great rider like Greg? Greg wanted 20 grand to show up at our local criterium? He loves cycling?

That's right, everyone's stupid except you Flicker.

Look, cycling existed before Armstrong. And cycling survived just fine while he was gone. In fact we may have had the cleanest TDF in a long time while he was retired in 2008. And for the duration of Lance's 1999-2005 career there was plenty of cycling all year round in Europe and in America while he was off 'preparing' for his annual 3 week parade.

Cycling carried on after the Festina scandal and the countless other outings of superstars (Landis, Ullrich, Pantani, Virenque etc......) and it will carry on whether Lance is exposed or not.

Greg Lemond is a hero on and off the bike. A man Americans should be proud of.

Then why drag a third party in CSE into it? CSE is not Trek, so attempting to show a direct link between Trek and PS does not involve CSE.

Your attempt is liking playing the corporate version of the Kevin Bacon game while also making stuff up about the alleged associations.

Please show me where I "made stuff up" about alleged associations?

You haven't been to Europe lately. Every climb of every GT is covered with paint.....Dope, Syringes, etc. While many Euros are realistic about doping in the sport few like the current situation.

Who is this Europ guy and why is he laughing at Lance?

No laughing but I'm sure it will be one big celebration and will probably be the starting point of world peace.

The good that LeMond is doing for cycling is having the balls to do what others in cycling notably those who have the power, hello Pat and friends, wont do.

Well Lance likes to share everything with the world via the web, well everything but the truth.

I don't hang at the side of the road in England but.....from what I hear pro footbale

I don't go to Europe or hang out on the side of the rode waiting for a bicyclist to whiz by. I totally think people who write graffiti on the highway are wan-kers US or Europe. The goofy suits they wear shows their grey matter. Small epuipment.

I sure never read about the fans of professional football Europe complaining about the fantastic doping of their teams.

Now that is funny. Frankie chuckled and didn't find it as amusing as me. Relegated to the toilet? Poor Frankie. It's his damn wife's fault!

I actually don't agree - if Lance was busted in the morning it would be greeted in Europe with a shrug of 'we knew it all along'.

And this is Pro Cycling's biggest problem - as long as those who have cheated the system are welcomed back with open arms then Pro Cycling is little more than a colorful circus that is forgotten about by the time the dust settles when the peloton have passed.

It is only when the problems are addressed - getting rid of all the doping DS's, Doctors, Trainers and those who play politics in the UCI - that Pro Cycling can gain any credibility as the fantastic sport it is.

Higgens doesn't drink coffee, he only drinks whiskey....morning, noon, and night. Thats what working for Armstrong will do to you. :D

Ok - you realise that Specialized are the new bike for the Astana team - with Vino & AC?

And why do you believe cycling would lose if Lance is exposed?
Sure a few people who support LA & not cycling might be lost - I'll still ride whoever gets caught. But there is a good chance we might lose some diehards in the UCI - ironically that could be the best thing for cycling.

I have to agree that this might be a necessary purge. Painful and costly for cycling in the short term perhaps, but better than the current modus operendi.

Oh please Dr. M. Send us some of that chronic you been a smokin, our local clinic is a fresh out.

Who is going to put their finger in the dike holding back the Zeedrsea of dopage when you and Greg grow weary? The clowns who paint the roads in the tour or spew beer in the face of the suspected riders at the "Epic" climbs of the Tour?

Just to let you know my favorite riders are;

Eddy Merckx

Fausto Coppi

Roger DeVlaemink

I am sorry Greg LeMond continues to have bad experiences. He has had some very unfair experiences put upon him.
I wish him well. Maybe he can ride his bike and enjoy the sun upon his bike again.

Specialized.....goes to Astana. Why not Contador best rider in the world right now. He will win 3 tours more...minimum. Even if he has little support in the tour from Astana he still has a hella lot of killer climber Spainish brothers in the tour. Vino served his time and says the testers were mistaken. Vino is a popular rider. Mueseuw and Boonen and Pozatto are awesome when they are juiced. Gotta run from them.

If LeMond exposes Lance and can prove it it will gut the American side of cycling. I wish Greg realized this.

If Bertie, Piti, Sastre, Pereiro go down, it will gut Spanish cycling. If Cav and Wiggo go down it will gut British cycling.

So basically you are pro doping/pro harm, all in the name of good PR for the sport?

Considering that the establishment is more than welcoming to the "old firm", taking them down is one of the few options available to cleaning up the sport.

I do not believe in doping. What I am saying is Americans in general are not cycling fans. They are Lance Armstrong fans and Greg LeMond fans.
Generally speaking most Americans do not understand the sport.
Any country that stands by and watches an acting president being impeached for lying about an affair when they should have been taking care of business ie; our economy is unsophisticated. We in America see ourselves as being honest and right. That is nice but unrealistic.
Pro Cycling is not honest. Never has been.
Greg LeMond and his supporters need to get a little more sophisticated and powerful to make the sport clean.
I support what Greg says but he is going about it in the wrong way. Same with David Walsh. Betsy,Vaughters, Andreau etc.
Drives the American fans away. They do not really want to know who dopes and who does not.
I would rather watch how European Football handles doping. Maybe we can learn from them.

People feel cheated by seeing that their cycling heroes have doped. I see it in this forum. It s like seeing someone you loved being hurt. Torture.

Just have to remember that at a competitve and business level Pro-Cycling is a little bit insane.

Were Lance to go down, no doubt a US senator or two would scream Euro conspiracy.;)
Sure, it would make a tsunami like wave across the US, but, like all tsunami, by the time it hit Europe, it would be more of a ripple.
Can't really feign shock and outrage, over the known truth and it's seemingly everyday exposure, within the sport.

Here in Europe, it would be a few knowing winks and shrugs, then cycling business as usual.

Think it's more US fans just like to support a winner. Same as they all stand next to Tiger and scream out "In the hole" every time he hits the ball even though it is a par 5 with no chance of ever getting in the hole
