Apparently McLay's brakes weren't working too. This might be the first time McLay's properly shown his sprint. His other pro win was a seated leadout and he accidentally won because he misjudged where the finish line was, I think.

Great bike handling. I don't think he was sprinting outrageously fast, just brave, skilled and well-timed when everyone else seemed to be dying.

Vuelta a Castilla y Leon today! Ridiculously poor field. Movistar the only WT team and Caja Rural, ONE, Stolting and Drapac the only pro conti teams. Congratulations Valverde!

Also, Demoitié was the "other" rider along with Planckaert I had been saying was due a step up to ProConti at least based on his performances in those races, and was pleased that he finally got that chance - only for it to be exceedingly brief :(

Planckaert winning makes a mess of the most-top-10s-without-a-win game.
