Apparently Wesley Kreder won the second stage in the ZLM tour.

That's right, an escape of four, with two continental riders and an espoir, and Etixx and both Lotto's unable to pull it back, apparently. Must have been a miscalculation :D

Just to be sure, Wesley is the cousin, right?
Though, I suppose from his PoV it's Michel and Raymond who're the cousins...
There are too many Kreders!

Is Stefan Kreder another one of those Kreders?

Rain and crashes also delayed the bunch.
Kittel won the bunch sprint 3s after Kreder finished, Groenewegen behind Kittel.

The Druyts family is even worse: Lenny, Kelly, Jessy, and Demmy are female pros, while their brother Gerry rides for Crelan-Vastgoedserice (dunno if you can call that pro). Also, news just got out that their parents like words ending in -y!

Michel tweets photos with Stefan and they look a lot alike so I guess Michel, Raymond and now Stefan are brothers. Not many photos with poor Wesley...

Dunno anything about a Stefan, but according to Wikipedia Wesley also has a brother, named Dennis.

(I am very sorry for starting this Kreder-confusion!)

Taaramae and Haig and Berzal ride away from the peleton to finish 1, 2,3 in a mountainous stage 2 of Slovenia. Bernal was third.

Taaramae leads Haig by 36 seconds and Berzal by 50 seconds.

TT tomorrow.

I wait for the day when Rob Power overcomes his tendinitis and gets back on his bike. He's a better climber than Haig.

Iron Horse Classic (USA) from Ned Overend's blog:
I got 3rd place in the Iron Horse Bicycle Classic Road Race on Saturday, May 28th. The race goes from Durango to Silverton, and I have done this race every year since 1982 (35 years). They've canceled it twice in that time because of snow on the road. This year I was in good company - the lead group contained me, Todd Wells, Ben Sonntag (aka “The German”), Christopher Blevins and Payson McElveen (eventual race winner). Things got a bit hectic in the five-up sprint, but fortunately 18-year old Chris Blevins is OK with just a few bumps and scrapes. Chris just returned from Europe where he won the Junior Peace Race, a road stage race in the Czech Republic and the Junior Mountain Bike World Cup in Albstadt, Germany. There is no shortage of cycling talent in Durango.-- Ned

Amazing timing for this photo:

Meanwhile the Sibiu cycling tour is going on in my second home country. After a prologue win for Andrei Nechita and a bunch sprint on the second stage won by Steele Von Hoff. The third stage was claimed by former bulgarian national champion Nikolay Mihaylov. He's also the new leader.

Jelle Wallays (LTS) won the GP Pino Cerami.

Great ride by Irish talent Michael O'Loughlin (19 years old!) coming in third.

Looking at his twitter profile, it seems his team is also sponsored by Tinkoff. Is this some kind of U23 team of Tinkov?

In line with Tinkoff-Saxo's long-term development plans and in view of the possible implementation of the proposed reforms that would require World Tour teams to set up a development team, Tinkoff-Saxo will partner with the newly created Italian Under 23 team Hopplà-Petroli Firenze.

Based in Tuscany, Italy and led by Leonardo Gigli, the team is an ambitious project to develop a future generation of strong Italian riders. Fully-financed by Hopplà, Petroli Firenze and a number of local sponsors, it will be associated with Tinkoff-Saxo and its technical partners. Omar Piscina will be the team manager and together with Tinkoff-Saxo's performance team will manage the sport programs of the U23 team.

Thanks to this partnership that will start in 2016, Hopplà-Petroli Firenze will be able to draw from the technical expertise of one of the world's top professional cycling teams.
