A good way to begin the season for FDJ, Pinot looked good, and Arthur closed the deal. I hope that he gets a break in '17, without bad luck and/or injury.

So Wellens on the attack at the beginning of the climb, Kiryienka & Belda closed the gap but somehow Wellens dropped them again in the last 500m. Valverde did not have enough teammates to close down the gap and came too late with Benoot in his wheel.
Yep, that was unexpected, but he timed it well and made a good decision to let Belda close the gap to Kiri as Kiri went by and almost created a gap when he caught up with Wellens. Valverde launched his sprint just 100 meters too late, also.

Does anybody know what happened to Boeckmans? He was part of the 10 man break with 10k to go, and he's not on the results list. Did he crash?

Probably a mistake. Boeckmans doesn't climb well enough.

No, it's Calmejane solo attack I think. Even though he might not make it, why did I forget him in my cqranking team!

Sounds like a couple of very interesting stages. It is a pity this race wasn't available to view live.

Indeed. But Tour of Valencia isn't too bad, either. :p

Alexandre: Tomorrow also looks like a semi-important day, at least on paper. Gallopin should be able to get some bonifications no?

I assume Chavanel, Gallopin and MWS would be favourites for GC?

Slight chance that Hollenstein and Politt could get on the podium too.
