Yep, that was unexpected, but he timed it well and made a good decision to let Belda close the gap to Kiri as Kiri went by and almost created a gap when he caught up with Wellens. Valverde launched his sprint just 100 meters too late, also.Samamba said:http://www.eitb.eus/es/deportes/ciclismo/videos/detalle/4617147/video-resumen-tercera-jornada-mallorca-challenge-2017/
So Wellens on the attack at the beginning of the climb, Kiryienka & Belda closed the gap but somehow Wellens dropped them again in the last 500m. Valverde did not have enough teammates to close down the gap and came too late with Benoot in his wheel.
Probably a mistake. Boeckmans doesn't climb well enough.Kazistuta said:Does anybody know what happened to Boeckmans? He was part of the 10 man break with 10k to go, and he's not on the results list. Did he crash?

He was part of the break, was dropped a moment but came back eventually, don't know when.RedheadDane said:1. Calmejane, Lilian - Direct Energie. 3:48:07

Now where was he hiding? Rest of the break got caught? "Taaramae" was actually Mads Würtz?
Indeed. But Tour of Valencia isn't too bad, either.barmaher said:Sounds like a couple of very interesting stages. It is a pity this race wasn't available to view live.
