Sky should win the World Tour as a result.

If only De la Cruz did not crash out of the Vuelta ... and then he joins Sky.

Mollema, wins in january in san Luis, still going at it in october in China. Whilst doing both Giro and Tour as well. I can't recall him ever having such a long season

Landa is also still racing. For what purpose? Sabotaging him for next year?

Bauke Mollema is known for his stupendously long seasons:

89 race days in 2011
75 race days in 2012
81 race days in 2013

It only went down in 2014: 67 race days, 69 in 2015 and 67 in 2016. 71 this year before China.

Nicolas Roche has raced 91 days this year ...and has raced practically every race since the Tour ie 55 days ...

Trying to hold on to that World Tour first place...

Groenewegen in front of Gaviria and Cort in China. Good for Groenewegen. He came close a few times this season.

He also won 7 other stages this season, incl Champs Elysees. But nice he beats Gaviria. Can beat all sprinters on a good day, but is inconsistent in placement before sprint.

Groenewegen was faster enough this season to win more than 10 victories, but he is the star rider of his team (alongside Roglic) so he usually goes to races with other top sprinters, and despite that he is not bad at positioning, he lacks a last leadoutman like richeze, Sabatini, Kluge, Mezgec, or even Laporte, Guarnieri, Zabel...

It´s quite usual to see Dylan starting his sprint a bit early, to far back or simply tired after being on his own during the last Km. He has decent helpers in Roosen, leezer and Wagner (he was stronger years ago) but they are not explosives enough to be the last man of a top sprint-train, maybe Amund Jansen or Van Hoecke could possible make it in tje next years.

56th UCI victory for QS this season. Impressive.
30(!) of these wins were on WT level.

Nevertheless, I don't think they'll take their 8th consecutive win in that ranking next year.

20 of them were after a bunch sprint though. It helps when you have the best sprinter in the world, one of the best and had the luck that the sprinters field in the Vuelta was very weak.

Losing Kittel and Trentin is gonna hurt them significantly next year.

BMC had 22 WT wins this year, none of them were bunch sprint wins. Equally impressive to me.

Who has got any chance of beating them though? I can see nobody.

Viviani should dominate the Giro sprints. I'm sure he'll be able to win about as much as he did this year for Sky over the whole season.

Can that race in China just be deleted?.. What an uninspiring route and race overall. The only reason I had a slight interest in the race and actually cared to check the results was Gaviria.

I am pretty fine with the race, first of all China is a huge market and it's important for the cycling industry in general. Especially for bike brands and they get some good exposure there with this race. Besides that the race had beautiful scenery and was pretty well organised, there were lots of fans along the road aswell, so there was definitely interest for the race. The riders also seemed fine with the race from the comments I have seen on twitter, I also spoke to one of the riders and he said it was very well organised with good hotels and a lot done for irders safety (police man along the road basically the whole route every 10 meter even in areas where there werent any people as there were no villages nearby).
TV coverage should be better ofc, there were some stages live on Chinese TV (and they could be streamed), and the route is far from perfect but it aint the worst route either especially if you take scenery into consideration).
For a first edition of a race I think it was pretty well organised and an okay race + good atmosphere with the fans. I hope in the future they can improve the route and TV coverage. But for cycling I think its important to have a WT race in China with some of the best riders racing there, and Guanxi is the right area for it as there is not much pollution and it's really beautiful there.

This morning 14th win of the season for Mareczko, if he'll win another stage will be the second year in a row with a non WT rider as a most prolific winner of the season (last year was Dupont).

The .2 races are part of the UCI calendar so are counted to determine the most prolific rider.
