Imagine extending the time cut because 37 minutes on a 100km stage with a flat first half wasnt enough of a joke
Probably an unpopular opinion, but I have like zero problems with this on a stage like today. The sprinters and the big guys will still kill themselves just trying to get up the climb, even if they can ride a bit slower.

(I do have a problem with time cuts not being followed once they are set, for example situations where the gruppetto is deemed "too big to kick them all out")

The time limit is now an hour and 4 minutes on a stage with maybe 1.5 hours of climbing in total. I'm sorry, but that's excessive.

don't think this has happened anymore since it comes with losing all points. Looks like it worked.

And what @Red Rick was referring to is that they first increased the time limit from 15% to 25% last night, and then by another 5% today, I think.

Congratulations to the organizers for including mighty Babadag climb, here!… :)

This is a climb every cycling fan loves. Almost two vertical kilometers, almost 20 kilometers long, and more than 10% average. These are the numbers that make a climb world class. It‘s like Zoncolan, but nearly twice as long.

Of course now we want to see this climb in a Grand Tour. Perfect to start a Giro d‘Italia.

Good to see a worthy winner today. Lutsenko already finished in the Top-10 of the final GC of a TdF, so he‘s good.

I now hope for a Giro start in Turkey, in 2028, or so:

Stage 1: Mountain TTT, up to Babadag,
Stage 2: regular stage, climbing Babadag on right side of the road, descending Babadag on the opposite side of the road, finishing with a MTF on Babadag, and
Stage 3: Mountain ITT, up to Babadag.

Until then, I hope MAL and Nairo are back.

Btw, why is Froomey not riding this year’s Tour of Turkey? Would have loved to see him in today’s stage… :)

I was expecting you to highlight the performances of Dawit Yemane and Jannis Peter and asking why no WT teams had picked them up yet.

Yeah, true, when I checked the results at PCS, I was extremely surprised about these two. Yemane, OK, he‘s a good climber, maybe almost as good as Mulubrhan, but Peter‘s result is almost sensational. Good, the time gap is immense, but the field is full of good climbers, and almost everyone wanted to show something, today.

Jannis Peter‘s 24th (?) place is sensational, no less than that. :)

This stuff always cracks me. Do you really think he's climbing back on the bus saying thanks guys but I couldn't be arsed?
well, yeah. It's what he said himself during the Giro.

Don't get me wrong, he's been racing since January, so I don't hink it's a major surprise - let alone problem - to not see him fighting for the win here. But no, I don't believe that he finished 12 minutes behind because of a bad day.
