Herzog is definitely improving after his lacklustre 2023. He was good in Muscat, he was good here. We'll hopefully see more glimpses of greatness in a big race this year.

Spoken as a german, germany could use a young, good up and commer its not looking too great lately for german cycling

Just caught the finale of Nokere Koerse. Classic Rickaert waving from side to side after his job is done until someone collides with him.

It's both. Rickaert absolutely shouldnt do what he was doing (and it's more that he always does this stuff), but obviously Ackermanns move is also DQ worthy.

He won't get one tho as there won't be a complaint cause he didn't win.

On his day he's truly an incredible rider. Unfortunately this happens like once per year. Great ride today anyway!

This year it will happen 20 times. Not having him on one's CQ team will equal certain doom for said team.

If Wellens is tired on Saturday resulting in him not being able to do his crucial job for Pog, UAE should look at themselves. Why is he riding Denain tomorrow too with MSR 2 days later? Are they so obsesses with their UCI points?

I thought that while originally down for Denain, he'd skip it after being added for Sanremo?

Weird. I still expect him to DNS.

According to HNB he's not even starting MSR anymore. Not sure what to believe. Weird stuff going on at UAE.

In interviews after finish he still seemed to be under the impression he was gonna go to Italy next for MSR. We'll see tomorrow if he starts I guess.

EDIT: Ok HNB just went off that UAE tweet and they made a mistake. Wellens is on his way to Milaan (luckily).

Points scored by devo team riders racing with the main team still don't count towards the UCI ranking, right? If so, IPT have ***ed up badly by not promoting Blackmore, that's two incredibly farmy 2.1 wins they aren't getting the points of.

Blackmore is down for the Israel Premier Tech Academy and I think the reason why is that the WT team has 30 riders and that is the maximum allowed. If someone drops out and Blackmore moves up to the WT team, then I believe he can take the points with him.

Edit - something new to watch out for- new safety barriers -
"The traditional metal barriers have been replaced by solid yellow polymer safety barriers 1.40 m high which, underlines their designer, offer optimal protection for runners and spectators. The tilt angle of 70 degrees relative to the ground ensures that spectators are kept at a safe distance. And, the main advantage, in the event of an impact the polymer cushions them.
These innovative barriers are one of the security solutions from a Belgian company based in Wevelgem and specialized in industrial security: Boplan. Adopted by the major Flemish races, they are installed for the first time in France."

Unfortunately it doesn't work like that.

Spare a thought though for Kern and Cobo. This was them before the stage......
