It's a strong chase group but is it stronger than the group in front? It's not like they have wasted a lot more energy already. I don't they catch them. A organised peloton is needed.
If they can get clear of the peloton, I think some in front will stop pulling and hope their stronger teammates bridge.

EDIT: It's not going to happen, and if it did it would only be QS, not Lidl-Trek.

Only way they catch that group is teams like Cofidis (they won't as long as De Gendt is in 2nd group), Lotto (same with Segaert), Arkea (Demare just got a flat), DSM (same as Cofidis and Lotto) all start working together but it won't be easy. It's not like the front group has been in front for a long time.

Ah and Jayco of course should ride immediately.

Peloton should just wait on 2nd part, you need every domestique you have.

Should Lamperti be taking a turn in group 2 with team mate Vangehlluwve upstream?

It's not an easy question to answer honestly. Vangheluwe is also fast for example, but can he beat Vernon. It's probably better to have 2 guys in the front. Also because when 2nd group gets caught a lot of extra teams have a reason to ride in the peloton.

We'll have to wait for Moeren in a bit, but I think it will still end up in a sprint. Second group isn't getting closer fast enough and the front group needs the extra help I think now that the peloton is getting really organized. They are lucky tho that the teams that need to chase did not start with 7.

34 seconds for 2nd group,

If I'm QS and Trek I stop riding in front group. They're gonna need the extra manpower. Guys like Vermeersch and Segaert don't have a sprint anyways and could come in very handy. Eekhof obviously does but it's worth it.

Peloton is closing down tho.
