Need a break from the farce that is the week before the tour?

Asian Racing continues with the Jelajah Malaysia (delayed from May due to elections in Malaysia).

as always Asian racing manages to turn what appears to be boring race profiles into exciting unpredictable racing, when you can see it through the haze of burning Indonesian forests

Stage 1 was yesterday and was won by the Russian rider Pozdnyakov from the new Baku team. 3rd win of the year for him. Second was Adiq (usually champion systems but Malaysian national team this week). 31 riders took 14 minutes from main bunch to settle the race for most riders.

more detailed updates and pictures here (great work by local cycling photographer Mokhriz Aziz)
http://2point2cycling.wordpress.com/2013/06/26/jelajah-malaysia-stage-1/

not found any video yet (usually most Asian races have some sort of local TV coverage)
updates during the day on Twitter from @jelajahmalaysia and @2point2cycling

Just a article I stumbled upon. No results, just that there is a race called Tour de Congo:
http://updatednews.ca/2013/06/19/first-cycling-tour-de-congo-begins-in-matadi/

had missed this, looks like they did a good job on publicity as even the guardian had the story

very small bit of video here
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2YiARiGlUsg

and Rwandan team giving some updates, including difficulty finding food for riders
http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2013-...they-cross-world-s-poorest-country-congo.html

Looks like french rider Médéric Clain (once of Confidis) is dominating along with the Rwandan riders.

some limited results here (race is still ongoing)

Thanks, D&C! Looks a bit unfair for König and Barta to compete with a bunch of continental and U23 riders in a 2.2 race, but it is their national tour after all...

During the weekend the only Europe Tour races of Hungary will take place: Central European Tour Miskolc GP and Budapest GP. Both races are similar in terrain, small hills in the middle of the course but they both should end up in a reduced sprint.

Favorites include: Riccardo Bolzan (Friuli), Patrik Tybor and Maros Kovác (Dukla Trencín), Vitaliy Popkov (ISD Continental), Andriy Kulyk (Kolss), Matej Marin (Gourmetfein-Simplon), Matej Mugerli (Adria Mobil), Krisztián Lovassy (Utensilnord). Biggest name is probably Branislau Samoilau, who will be a part of Team Belarus.

It's really hard to tell who each team is going to support, the stronger teams have a lot of similar riders, I was simply guessing. Utensilnord will ride for Lovassy who won the Miskolc GP last year and is the reigning national champion. However, it's possible that in one of the races Zsolt Dér will be the leader. Alessandro Mazzi could also be dangerous from a brekaway as he showed that during the Coppi e Bartali, and Federico Rocchetti is also in great shape after a 5th place at the Giro dell'Appennino and a victory at the Giro del Medio Brenta.

I don't know why they even bothered racing. They could have just given the flowers to Leukemans before the race

The food race in flatland/Dutch Food Valley Classic (1.1)

1 VIVIANI Elia Cannondale Pro Cycling Team 80 75
2 NAPOLITANO Danilo Accent.jobs – Wanty 56 55
3 VAN HUMMEL Kenny Vacansoleil - DCM 32 40
4 WIPPERT Wouter Team 3M 32
5 VANTOMME Maxime Crelan-Euphony 28
6 VEELERS Tom Team Argos - Shimano 24
7 BENNETT Sam An Post - Chainreaction 20

Don't know why we even have this race rather than getting an even better selection going in Italy, France and US.

Who is this good for? Not many would be my guess.
