Strong break for Caja Rural to try to control today - on the Alto del Cordal a break has got away consisting of Arkimedes Arguelyes (Lokosphinx), David Belda (Burgos-BH), Garikoitz Bravo (Euskaltel), Jonathan Castroviejo (Movistar), Jesús Herrada (Movistar), Mikel Landa (Euskaltel) and Antonio Piedra (Caja Rural-Seguros RGA).

Assume Piedra's there to monitor, but Landa being 3rd on GC is a big concern for the men in green.

Edit: This then reduced to Arguelyes and Castroviejo, then Arguelyes dropped Castroviejo on El Violeo, however the bunch caught him on Monte Naranco.

Movistar tweet that Javi Moreno (who of course won this race overall for Caja Rural two years ago) took the win, but beyond that no info yet.

Awesome to see Arkaitz Durán up there! He deserves another go around. Can't wait to see what he can do in the Volta, though I suppose he'll probably wind up working for one of the many possibly leaders at Efapel, Ribeiro, Sousa or Brôco. Should have got to about 5th or 6th on GC too, no?
