Kenny Dehaes got a win from a small break established late in the race. Some playing around in the final few kilometers saw the group almost getting caught, but Kenny was the strongest.

Solid win for Lotto.

Were there even other WT teams present?

Amalie Didriksen just won a couple of races in the Netherlands and Belgium.
I'm not sure what they're called, but I figured junior girls deserve a mention too. :)

Seems to have been a lively race, a shame that there were no TV pictures

Luka Mezgec wins, cool! Good for him that he does not have to wait for his first win of the season until one of season-closing chinese races...

And some Dutchies here say Bos is in Top 5 of the fastest in the world

:D

I don't think that's entirely nuts. On his day, he is very, very fast in terms of top speed. He just can't do any of the other things sprinters do to actually make use of their speed reliably. And at this point it seems unlikely that he ever will.

To be fair, Bos has made far more of a career as a road sprinter than many tipped him to when he first made the switch. I remember him finished minutes down on his own in some random 2.2 race for RB3....

that doesn't matter. expectation of him were taht he could become the worlds best road sprinter and win stages in grand tours. that is laughable now. don't forget he gave up a sport in which eh wasn't even olympic champion yet, while being one of the best in the world on track. I'm sure eh regrets his move every day of his life

Alexis Gougeard (AG2R La Mondiale) wins by attacking the break at business end. A nice solo effort. Congrats.

Small race, but I repeat: Brown Power.

Mezgec finished 3x 3th in the Giro last year, and he was faster then guys like Nizzolo, Ferrari and Viviani. He's not some 4th rate sprint dude, but a guy who can develope himself into a good sprinter who can win races on a regular basis.

After his debut on the road in 2009, Bos won 37 races. Ok, not all (mostly perhaps) were top races, but he showed he can win at least 5/6 races a year. There aren't much sprinters who can say that.

He hasn't fulfilled his goals, winning stages in GT's. True, but there are some fairly good explanations for that. In the Giro 2012 he crashed hard on the second day, and rode two weeks with a broken spine. Last year, he showed good form in arrive of the Vuelta. If you looked at he sprint field in that Vuelta, it was quite logical that the people (and Theo himself) expected at least a stage win. However, he couldn't start due to problems with his level of cortisode. So he had some bad luck in his career, on crucial points. It isn't that he rode horrible in the GT's, and that he showed he couldn't cope with the level. It's just the fact he didn't get a chance to ride a GT without any problems, or to ride one at all.

He said he just didn't enjoy track cycling anymore. In that regard, cycling holidays to Langkawi and Hainan are probably quite enjoyable.

Also, who expected him to become the best road sprinter? Most predictions said he'd never make it as the switch was too radical.
