I love the tour of Qinghai Lake. The only tour where you have an altitude of 3000m but nevertheless a flat stage.

Tour of Qinghai Lake is coming to an end. Today Kump took another victory, his 5th of the race and 16th of the season. It was an interesting battle between him and Gavazzi in the past days with some exchange of words and even more:

Anyway add another race which has been completely dominated by Adria Mobil. They have the yellow jersey, green jersey and 6 wins out of 12 stages ridden with just a stage to go. Rogina is only 3s ahead of the competition but he is very likely to hold onto the lead. Roglič also still going very strong.

Dwars door de Vlaamse Ardennen, a pseudo-new race at the UCI level. Pretty useful course starting and finishing at Erpe-Mere, and a decent startlist (including the first race in the national champion's jersey for Preben van Hecke... when was the last time the Belgian national jersey was débuted at a .2 race?!), with a number of obstacles on the route as follows:
1 - Berendries
2 - Valkenberg
3 - Grinquieur
4 - Côte des Hauts/Mont-Saint-Laurent
5 - Côte de Trieu/Knokteberg
6 - Paterberg
7 - Hotond
Pavé 1 - Mariaborrestraat
8 - Steenbeekdries
9 - Taaienberg
10 - Eikenberg
Pavé 2 - Haaghoek
11 - Leberg
12 - Molenberg
Pavé 3 - Paddestraat
Pavé 4 - Lippenhovestraat

So far, so Omloop. However, after these there are 50km remaining, including a tight and technical closing circuit. 28 teams took the start, of which 17 were professional (including TSV and Wanty at Pro-Continental) and of the club/amateur teams, feeder teams for Etixx and Lotto were included.

Looks to have been an interesting race with a small group ahead of a few off the front of the main chase (15 strong or so) at 1'32 but the stronger teams won out in the end.

1 Stijn Steels (TopSport Vlaanderen-Baloise) BEL 4'16'49
2 Dmitri Claeys (Vérandas Willems) BEL +st
3 Preben van Hecke (TopSport Vlaanderen-Baloise) BEL +1"
4 Gertjan de Vos (Team 3M) BEL +1"
5 Christophe Prémont (Vérandas Willems) BEL +1"
6 Sébastien Delfosse (Wallonie Bruxelles) BEL +1'16"
7 Jimmy Duquennoy (ColorCode-Aquality Project) BEL +1'24"
8 Jens Wallays (TopSport Vlaanderen-Baloise) BEL +1'28"
9 Conor Dunne (An Post-Chainreaction) IRL +1'28"
10 Joeri Stallaert (Cibel) BEL +1'32"

The Prueba Villafranca de Ordizia / Ordiziako Klasika has been and gone; this hilly race in Gipuzkoa has traditionally been held just before the Clásica San Sebastián and serves as a nice warmup for a few teams. Like most Spanish races it's suffered a lot recently with the loss of teams so the field size is comparatively small; a lot of teams don't really like the idea of turning up to climb on awkward Basque roads all day and get beaten up by Movistar, although with all their big fish in France, it was the other Spanish top team, Caja Rural, who took home the prize.

There are five laps of a hilly circuit on the course, with an additional steep final climb added to the final circuit.

clasica_ordizia_perfil_g__2015_organizador_web.jpg

Only two World Tour teams (Movistar and Orica-Green Edge) and three Pro Conti teams (Cofidis, Caja Rural and RusVelo) in the race, along with the usual collection of small Spanish and Portuguese continentals and the not-Spanish-registered-but-with-a-group-of-Spanish-riders-who-do-the-Spanish-races-while-the-others-race-closer-to-their-homelands teams like Inteja-MMR and Keith Mobel. All small groups, with the MAN, the MYTH, the LEGEND, Ángel Madrazo proving triumphant, besting Ion Izagirre in a sprint from a small group, with teammate Amets Txurruka rounding out the podium.

1 Ángel Madrazo Ruiz (Caja Rural-Seguros RGA) ESP 4'16'39
2 Ion Izagirre Insausti (Movistar Team) ESP +st
3 Amets Txurruka Ansola (Caja Rural-Seguros RGA) ESP +st
4 Cameron Meyer (Orica-GreenEdge) AUS +6"
5 Ivan Santaromita (Orica-GreenEdge) ITA +11"
6 Luca Capelli (Team IDEA 2010-ASD) ITA +11"
7 David Belda García (Burgos-BH) ESP +11"
8 Garikoitz Bravo Oiarbide (Murias Taldea) ESP +11"
9 Sergey Firsanov (RusVelo) RUS +23"
10 Simon Clarke (Orica-GreenEdge) AUS +35"

Circuito de Getxo:

Bouhanni wins over the last 2 winners of the race, Lobato and Barbero.
Doesn't take a genius to guess who was 4th.

Tom Thill (LUX/Team Differdange - Losch) wins the overall at Tour of Hungary (2.2), in front of Andi Bajc (SLO/Amplatz - BMC) and James Early (NZL - Team Stölting). It is the first professional win for the Luxembourger.

Mike Teunissen won the Prologue of the Tour de l'Ain today. Maybe someone wants to start a new thread.

Really looking forward to tomorrows Czech Tour, with both Gaviria and Contreras starting for Etixx. No idea how tough those climbs are, but Gaviria is a really solid climber and should be able to beast and feast in this field.

If it's still 2.2, how can Etixx go?

Etixx wins the TTT, with Contreras being the race's first yellow jersey holder. :)

1.Etixx 23:38
2.Bora +10
3.CCC +22

I don't like a 20km TTT in a four day race. It has killed the GC battle IMO. It's only between Etixx, Bora and CCC riders now.

Peloton shattered into echelons. Gaviria beats Pawel Franczak (Active Jet) and Daniel Schorn (Bora-Argon) in the sprint.

Stybar, Vakoc, Barta, Baska all in the first group of 10 people.
