WGG dominate this year's Druivenkoers Overijse. Jérôme Baugnies takes the win. A busy day for the amazing race to most top 10s without a win as Marcato and Benoot both had chances. Leukemans fails to overhaul de Vlaeminck's record in the race, although he was in a dangerous breakaway.

Interesting to see Trentin winning today, for different reasons: 1) He's not the kind of rider to win small races, he only had 2 stages in the Tour and one in Suisse until today 2) I was thinking the other day about the Italian team for the WC and the only decent leader I could come up with was Trentin (maybe Bonifazio or Oss can step up but I doubt it).

Should be good for Plouay on Sunday :)

If they make the race hard enough Ulissi could be the leader, but yeah, Trentin as the leader would be cool.

I don't think they have a team to make the race hard and neither does Ulissi strike me as the guy to finish it off. We'll see :)

Felline should be the leader after a very consistent year and a good performance in Eneco.

Oscar Sevilla wins the first stage of the Tour do Rio, Gustavo César (Veloso) comes in second. Everyone else almost a minute down.

We're in for a good fight.

So what happened? Did Marcato gift Baugnies the win so he could remain in the "most top 10s" competition, or did they sprint for the win properly?

Malori wins stage 4 of the Tour de Poitou Charantes. Movistar domination, 3 in the top 4. Interestingly, Malori and Catsroviejo beat Tony Martin over a 23km flat TT by a 3 and 4 seconds. Dowsett 4th 17 seconds down before a massive gap to 5th over 45 seconds down.

Nice win for Malori against serious competition.
Great, nice to see him getting into shape and getting a win before the WC, the TT is flat enough for him to be on the podium, if he's in peak shape.

Latour 10th in the ITT. Pretty good for him even if his form is superb right now and the weather may not have been the same for everyone.

Robin Stenuit, a 25 year old staigiare with WGG wins Schaal Sels-Merksem. He beat Oliver Naesen of Topsport, the two holding off the peloton in the last few km.

Felline wins GP des Fourmies as the last from the break. Was a close run thing. Boonen is second as first from the peloton, then Nacer Bouhanni.

Good that he was free to race instead of being wasted to set up Nizzolo to finish 10th.

Breakout season finally.

The most plausible option for Italy in Richmond.
